Jeesh, you think people would know how to beat defense from back int he days of stacking.
Stun breaks primary defense rolls (melee and ranged defense) This will make you flat out miss more often.
Intimidate halves dgm output by the recipient and breaks secondary defenses. (this means that once u break their primary defense, they have far less of a chance to dodge, block, counterattack). If u see a fencer, stun/intimidate him, and youll be amazed with the results.

As they all have said. to PVP against uber defense templates like the fencer you need distance, the ability to strip defences (stun) the ability to kite (keep em from getting close) always make sure you can hit (accuracy) and a host of foods and other skills
stun = lowers defence
intimidate = lower damage dealt by them (it does not negate defenses (stuns job ^_^)
if you can... have a CM hit em ^_^ then strafe the hell out of them!

*Sigh*. Not sure why this always comes up, but yes Intimidate does negate secondary defenses, a la Dodge, in addition to lowering the damage they do.

Not convinced? Go find a high level mob, one of the tougher Nightsisters lets say. They do all three secondary defense moves alot (dodges, counterattacks, and blocks). Intimidate her. Watch your combat spam. No more dodges, counters, or blocks while she is Intimidated. Let it wear off. She starts dodging, countering, and blocking again.

I'm a master fencer. Fencer's great defenses are offset by the lowest damage offense in the game. A good acklay baton does 100 damage after armor and mitigation and landing a dizzy/posture down is difficult and rare with fencer. The keys to beating a fencer with a rifle in my opinion is to use your best range modded gun (usually your dxr6), use accuracy instead of damage powerups, use citros snow cake, shoot flushing shots till you land a stun, and to kite. If you never let them get close to you, they can't hurt you. A battle where they run away because you kited and stuck a stun and started landing damage shots is a win for you.
BTW, accuracy does help in sticking a stun. Even if it takes you 10 tries to stick the stun, you will connect 1 in 2 or 3 after you stick it and that's when the fencer will start going downhill. You can switch to your jawa or T21 after you stick your stun and you will be able to connect very well. And, as folks above said, if you can spare the points for novice brawler, you can intimidate with a rifle equipped from up to 40 meters. Stun further helps to reduce defenses.

Stun and /aim.
If they're up close though, /pray, and buy a pre-nerf T21 with +0 Minimum Range modifier.

*cough* DXR6-B *cough*
Mine has a +121 ideal range mod so I can hit what ever I want when I want to. (except for jedi)
If you really get in a pinch, throw some states on them with a spray stick or something. The T21 sucks hard if you are trying to fight in close with it, its got awful range mods on it.

hi
coup[le of things:
1. aim + 30 from ranged support 4. it stacks up to +90
2. there are accuracy increasing foods, which stack. (i forgot the name)
3. even at max the stacker will have 125 dodge mac, its an ingame hardcap. BUT .....
then there is Pikatta Pie, around 50-60% extra dodge, filling around 33% and it stacks ....
i personally use it often when i have to tank and i dont get hit. its the pikata pie that gives me the +160ish % extra dodge.
add to that Center of Being.
withoutthese i get hit with relative ease.
on the bright side, with aim and foods i have gotten my rifle up to around 300 or so. there is nothing in game that cannot be hit with that, however, doing considerable dmg to it is another matter entirely.
this is just regular, then i also keep an extra T21 and Jawa with accuracy powerups.
4. keep a weapon in your bag ready with + accuracy powerup on it for PvP and have it on hotbar. have all your weapons and stun helm and bp on hotbar. i cannot stress these enough.

1) Said Fencer most likely had TKM or at least 0004 tka for defensive acuity, so his dodge kicks in more often
2) Said Fencer could have had pistoleer
3) Said Fencer could have had Dodge attachments
4) Said Fencer was using Dodge Food, Pikatta Pie i believe its called, making it so he dodges 44% more of attacks aimed at him
5) Said Fencer was most likely using a center of being macro, so stacked with his defensive acuity from tka (if he has it) he will dodge almost every attack aimed at him
Best solution?
AOEs, AOEs like strafe shot 2 and flushing shot 2 are statistically harder to dodge/block, makes sense your firing in the area around him/her. If you and a bud fire AOEs at the same time at him, he will ALWAYS be hit by 1 of them

Hmmm i did better then fight some nightsisters...I read what is posted about it in the brawler forums (it's even stickied ^_^) you are correct it does lower the chances of such defences working - in brawler they suggest that it removes the ability for the duration entirely.
To bad Intimidate is a brawler only skill - as such I can never ever have it. Master Rifle/Master CM leaves little left to get brawler skills with. *votes for intimidate to be added to the pistoleer profession as a replacement for the weapon damage on disarming shot (one of the suggestions being looked at) I still would not be able to get it - but at least someone with ranged skills could eventually
