This is the route I took to leveling, for what its worth. The bulk was done solo, except 1 night a week when I grouped with friends and hunted enraged rancors. Also, I was unbuffed and unarmored for the majority of this as well.
CounterSniping 3, for flushing shot 2-> Sniping 4, for the accuracy mods-> CounterSniping 4, for the last block mods -> Concealment tree, cause I needed it for master.
I fired my first conceal shot last week -- never used the thing while leveling.
Best advice I have for leveling is that just cause you can kill a thing, does not mean you have to kill it. You can conceal shot rancors all day and get 5k xp each and after 3 hours of playing you've killed 100. Or you can take on something a little less difficult, like huurton huntresses, and flushing shot 2 them, or even headshot 2 themto minimze gang attack, while they hang around their lair, at 3500 xp each, and kill 2 or 3x as many in the same 3 hours session. I took the latter approach, and was amazed at how fast the xp mounted. 9k ham with 15% energy resists and no armordie much faster than 12k ham with 30% energy resists and light armor.

If you are just trying to get to master as quickly as possible just get buffed, drink some brandy, fill the combat xp boxes as high as you can( i was maxed when i started so straight up to box 3) then get a speed sliced laser rifle, add a speed PuP,go join a solo group on dant, go up to quenker lair, attack with PointBlankArea, then get about 50k xp every 5 mins...Fill any boxes you like on the way up to master. Then, when you hit Master its a lot easier to learn the skills of your profession ratherthan trying to learn when you cant hit a barn door at 60 paces.

Personally, I just use Point Blank Area, so I'd go up to Sniping IV, than Counter Sniping IV, and then Concealment IV
I've been a Master Rifles before, and I'm regrinding, so far, I've got to 3-1-2-4 from Novice Marksman in no time.
