Thread: Are we really getting nerfed?

Been a rifleman for over 5 months now and I can honestly say we are overpowered. What they need to do is bring back the damage modifier for melee against rifleman because it made sense and those that were rifleman at that time were not the same type of rifleman we have today. The rifleman we had before did not "rambo" attack cities and bases for fear of a melee attacker laying the the smackdown with a 2.5 damage modifier in their favor, so they stayed ranged and took care of business that way. We are rifleman and not pistoleers, so we should shoot less, but do more damage, so the rumored 3 sec cap won't bother me in the least.........snipers to me are considered a support class........

With a damage modifier of 1.5 against rifleman during combat with melee I think it would help weed the people who are using rifleman just as a temporary fix until the next flavor of the month profession rears its head and also remind rifleman that we are NOT pistoleers, so charging into a raid or city with a jawa rifle will have its consequences.........

That is not the fault of the profession now, is it?

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

Yes we are getting nerfed, give SOE the time, and every class and every skill will indeed get nerfed.

Right if they want to make us more vulnerable to melee, no problem , as long as they remove GROUP TEF whoring.

Damage as a function of what you hold never made sense.

Except if you can pick ONLY ONE combat prof, Rifleman are on par with any other that pick one. When the stacking is nerfed, you will see this far less. As a pro and with the new armour and buffs I bet you can set up a combo suchthat x2.5would not even become atickle. You WOULD however, totally skrew the newbies. No, this is NOT the answer and please folks, get it out of your little heads now... or was that the point? To totaly skrew with those trying to be rifleman? Shame on you

I'm tired of this. Suspend my belief in the name of balance. Sorry, I don't buy it. What do big game hunters use on the hunt? A revolver? My template uses Rifleman as a tool of the trade and "support profession" is not an option.

No, go with the way they are planing it now: get hit more often in melee. The reason they are comming to Rifleman is Ranged Damage Mitigation 3. Hands down. Once they figure out that they have to actively switch from VK to Rifle and back, destroying the nice spamage macro they have, and actually, actively inguage the keys and "perform" to the given conditions they will probably return to Pistol due to the better melee stats (and the dual wield they are getting). NO CHANGES TO RIFLEMAN NEEDED.

In other words: IT'S THE STACKING STUPID. Work on a stun layer, I could even see some mods to the Jawa (AP0?) but let's not ever speak on this death-wish x2.5 crap again.

Everyone has been crying nerf but is it actually going to happen? And when will this happen? is it gonna be in publish 7?
If we get 3 second cap, im droping rifleman which I spent so much time to master

the entire combat system is getting an overhaul. the skills are liekly going to remain as they are it is how they use HAM and how special interact with HAM is what we know for sure is changeing.

------
rumoured changes:
these changes were floated by devsand were never followed up on with more info so dont take any of this as rote truth.

specials may interact with other specials and "stack" or "chain" together for different damage effects.

weapons like the T21 and other elite class weapons may have varients that weaponsmiths can craft and varients will progress in power as the user moves up the trees and qualifies for more powerful versions.
-------

as for publish 7 the only known changes are to carbineer for the most part. there is nothing in it that really affects rifles specifically. that is in publish8. the changes are up on TC now for publish 7
