Thread: Anti-Rifleman Armor?

Because of oddities with the armor system, you take MORE damage from ion rifle headshots with stun-layered composite than you would unarmored or with a standard stun-vulnerable helm, unless you have more than 25% stun resist. Any amount of stun resist will reduce damage from tangle pistol or stun baton, but not many people use those and there's a lot of riflemen with ion rifles.

I read the thread, and I may have missed something, but why would this be true for an AP1 Jawa Ion Rifle? This peculiarity should only come into play when AP > AR, as I understand it, and composite is AR1.
composite is AR1 vs everything but Stun (vulnerability)... currently as coded AP does NOT work on vulnerabile damage types... if the armor has 1-24% effectiveness resist vs stun you will take MORE damage than if the armor was vulnerable (since the AP1 jawa will do 1.25x dmg)... special protections act like medium armor (makes AP2 weapons do AP1 dmg and AP3 into AP2)so choose your weapons with this in mind (I'd rather shoot a t-21 at a target with 45% special energy resist than one with energy vulnerability)
Oops, I was wrong on that. Any stun protection will reduce jawa damage because of the AR1, the <25 rule is only for AP2-3 weapons. I shouldn't try to post about buggy confusing systems when I just got up and I'm still groggy.
PSGs do provide adequate protection if they don't lose their stun resist from the random stat shifting bug, but they're hard to find and break fast.
PSGs work on top of armor, but are very broken at the moment ![]()
Many armorsmiths boycott even making them until they are much more reliable

Composite = AR1. Jawa = AP1.
AP gets thrown out if the armor is vulnerable to that type. AP is cancelled out if it's not.
So HOW does this make you take more damage? And why do headshots from a Jawa rifle do less damage when I have a 35% stun resist helm on? You're making no sense.
