Oops. You're correct. 3.5X is the delay mod. Damage multiplier is 5X. Good catch. Here is the numbers rerun.
8000 / 5 = 1600 base damage. Remove 1.5X multipliers. 1600 / 1.5 = 1066 base damage. Remove powerup and slice (30% on each).
End up with a base damage of 631. Assuming this is the max damage. You will need Krayt tisses or the Yellow Cubes mentioned earlier. Add in some exceptional success experimentation. And you may be able to reach this.
Though it is still more likely to be a looted weapon. But may be possible to craft. Would have to talk to a WeaponSmith to know for sure though.

Thanks guys,
Not only did I get the answer... but got to learn some thing new in the process.
Now I just have to go find me a WS to help me craft this thing.
Oh... and find all th goodies to power it. May take awhile, but it will be mine...

i seen 7k hits from a guy, he said his dxr6 was 700 or so max dam w/o pup
... although i'm not inclined believe him, really.
btw, you are talking about nyax here right?

I've hit Nightsister outcasts for 5K with my DXR-6b (they have no armor and 10% acid resists....that kicks in the AP bonus). Mine is just a plain old damage sliced run of the mill rifle. With yellow cubes, krayt tissues and a 35% damage slice I think 8K is very possible.

I have yet to use mine since hitting Master. I'll have to try it and see what happens. Would be wonderful to see highXXXX points of damage float above a mob's head.
