Posture accuracy mods are not included in the damage calculations, they only affect to-hit

I wish it were as simple as that, not least because this game has seen a lot of past timing issues where waiting prevents a bug (prone warping, for example.)
But I tried it in extremes. Stand still 30 seconds, go prone and wait 30 seconds - still denied sniper shot or cover more often than not.
The cause is right there in the game, the problem is we only get it reported as a kachunk sound during warmup.

Not sure if this is intended or not, nor what rifle everyoneis using. However, while trying out various things with a guildmate the other night, I found that with a dx6 I was able to sniper shot everytime, whie he was using a t21 and hardly ever getting it to work. So on a whim I equipped my T21 and used the advanced aim and bingo it worked evertime with the T21 as well. Unfortunately this appears to only be the case with PVP. When I tried this a number of time during PVE either the advanced aim or the sniper shot only rarely worked. Also when in PVP I noticed that the adv aim icon appeared under my target whereas it never did during PVE, even though the combat log showed that I had taken careful aim. Bugged????

I think it's just broken. Just now, I was burst running and dropped to the ground and fired on a mob. The sniper shot went off immediately (after the warm up of course).
Probably the most devastating attack when it comes to hunting jedi. Sniper Shot + Underhand Shot = win. Too bad it's broken.

ok new theory
Against lvl 80 it goes off most of the time. Below lvl 80 it will not work. Maybe lvl has something to do with it

Theory:
Its bugged and theres no work around, its simply a random event.

I had some successes.. goign prone for a while.. counting 10secs, snipershot goes off. Then tried it later, didnt work. Did exactly the same steps. Lvl may have something to do with it.. but it shouldn't have.
Diverging... Cover seemed to work only when i was in group. And at least 20m from any thing. Out of grp the success rate of cover is like... 10%.

If it's not going to work, you'll hear a "click-gonk" sound like when you choose to perform an invalid action. Click it again and save yourself the lack of motion.

Some things I've noticed about sniper shot and other windup moves:
Failure rates seem to be dependent on where I'm physically located. Staying in the same spot produces the same result. I can't find any sort of pattern for what makes a spot good or bad however.
If I'm prone and sniper shot fails with the kachunk sound early in the windup period then it will always fail as long as I'm in that spot.
If I'm prone and sniper shot fails with the kachunk towards the end of the windup period, then I can usually hit it again and have it go off after a few tries.
If it goes off once, it will always go off a second time (provided the mob hasn't found me yet and I'm not being interrupted by attacks).
Aim, *while prone*, is just as unreliable as sniper shot.
Aim from the exact same spot while standing will almost always work. (I think it does always work, but now that I put it down in text I can't quite remember for sure)
If Aim does succeed while prone, following it with Sniper Shot will always succeed as well.
One possible reason for this is that being prone somehow puts you in a state where you might be counted as moving even when you're not. Possibly depending on the terrain. The flaw in this theory is that when you cancel a windup by moving the timer bar goes away, while with the failures we're getting the timer bar stays until it finishes.

Yeah Snipershot never works for me.
Tried everything posted in here. Never have had it work yet.
It's borked and needs to be fixed.
