I am MM/MR/Mcarb with 0404 pistols and the rest in FS ranged speed, ranged def and ranged accuracy. I luv it. its great for pve and pvp it works best in groups. This is an all out nuker with high accuracy and speed. Grp up with a healer and crowd controller and you ready to rock.

Seriously, you don't need to be a BH. If you don't want to be one, I'd suggest these temps:

Master Rifles - Master Pistols - CM 44xx ( This is my current template and I'm having a ball with it )

May I hijack this thread please? Because I am currently

a) Master-Rifleman, Master-Pistoleer, Master-Marksman, Medic 3340

and I wonder if I should respec to either

b) Master-Rifleman, Master-Pistoleer, Marksman 4404, Medic 4040, Doctor 4000

or to

c) Master-Rifleman, Master-Pistoleer, Marksman 4404, Medic 0400, Combat-Medic 4400

So above post made me wonder if I could chime in here. I think the ability to heal myself is essential (I am not disinclined to groups but I also solo a lot) but I simply can't make my mind up - could you please help me while I should prefer one template over the other? Thank you!

Personally I'm more of CM fan, because you can get fire and poison as well as great healing which i like.

WOW!

Gone for a few days and tons of responses.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll go for MR and either MC or MP.

Thanks again,

Another noob question....

I am planning on being MR and either MP or MC and using the rest of my points to fill up the Pistols or Carbine whichever I don't master. I like to make stuff blow up.....

Everyone seems to be a MBH, is that because it adds another play element of hunting Jedi?

Bounty Hunter makes for a very strong addition to any of the ranged professions. It gives good defense (coupled with Duelist Stance), good general ranged mods, and some really good specials. Also you get a certification for Assault Armor which is for the most part the best PVE armor in the game.

Should I ditch my efforts to be MP or MC and go MBH?

This choice is purely yours but I've found myself personally unable to bring myself to drop Master Bounty Hunter. The loss of defenses/skills/mods really just doesn't seem worth pursuing another profession.

Is there still enough interesting to do without hunting Jedi?

There's PLENTY of interesting things to do without hunting Jedi and I have to admit that hunting Jedi really isn't all that fun. For every 5 missions you may complete one due to housesitters/getaway drivers/space sitters/Kashyyyk grinders.

GCW, Dueling, etc, is that enough to continue to make the game intersting?

I don't even participate in the GCW anymore - the side with the larger gank squad wins. Dueling can be fun but where's the point in that really?

Thanks again,

Omaplata

Since when? I just traded in some BH XP and got 5:1

5:1 doesn't sound right...I'm sure it's better than that as I've heard that generally the favourite FS classes

are BH and RM...because of the awesome ratio...

The reason that BH is a good choice for grinding FS experience is the fact that it allows you to cap out on 4 different types of weapons experience at their absolute maximum value. Having MBH allows you to cap out at 900k combat experience I do believe.

Thats not true. While a BH can cap all 3 ranged, they will only be able to cap the 1Mil XP in the 1 skill they are Master in, while the rest will be capped lower...while a Master Rifle/Carb and Pistol4403 will be able to cap the 1Mil on 2 of the ranged and the lower cap is only on 1.but we are talking 100K xp here...peanuts. Your arguement isn't even worth being a consideration in a template.

Has anyone experimented with combining MRwith melee skills? Specifically, is MR, TKM &say some medic worth considering? I'm MR/MD P0004 at the moment, and, while the heals and speed/action buffs are very nice to have, I'm not really satisfiedI can't stop thinking about armorlessness and COB/Katarn for short range.

As a Master Rifleman/Master Bounty Hunter I could cap my Rifle XP at 1200k and my Pistol and Carbine at 900k. I never reached my Combat XP cap however.

As for adding melee, not worth it in my mind. You're basically limiting you ability to fight ranged and limiting your ability to fight melee by trying to combine the two. TKM is nice for the def but honestly you're better off with the added abilities and mods from another ranged profession.

As for the Healing, keep Novice Medic and get some efficiency clothes and some Chef food like citrus snow cake. I heal for 600+ at Novice Medic, and couple that with the Stim Ds and ruby, well, that enough healing for almost anybody.

Then a Master Rifle/Carb Pistol4403 would have a 1.2Mil cap on Carb and Rifle and 900K with Pistol, 300K better than a MRM/MBH, but still only 300K diff, not even worth worrying about. I'm not sure that there is a Combat XP cap anymore...it seems to be very high....perhaps someone that has capped theirs could comment on that.

Yeah, a combat template with melee and ranged is not like it used to be. Now it is just 2 wasted halves....not one complete.
