Thread: Master riflemen now for 2 days.. my thoughts..
Congratulations!
I also master rifleman on Monday. So far i can say rifleman is great.
3) concealment line needs to have some stuff added to it. It's not super usefull right now at all
Wait till you solo creatures, you really realizea lot of creatures cant detect you even you are 40 meter in front of it and you are spaming 20 headshot2on it.

Hehehe best to lay off the muon for awhile.
I'm just curious how lately the profession has changed. I haven't played my Riflemen in prob 2 months.
Any comments?
Well...I made rifleman about 3 weeks ago and I love it! How has the profession changed? Just for an example, my buddy and I were out trying to find peko peko albotrosses (sp? a frock it!) and we ran into those Imp "patrols" out in the middle of nowhere. Now I am master rifles / TKA and my buddy had just made master pistoleer / TKA so we figured it would be easy for 2 guys to take on 10-15 imp ST's. So my buddy starts lighting them up w/ fan shot and I let in w/ Strafe 2 from my T21 (max 768 w/ dmg slice and powerup). 3-4 Strafe 2's later and they were all dead. All 10-15 of them. My buddy comes back to me and says, "Well...they sure died fast!" To which I replied, "Strafe 2 Rules!" He then said, "When I finally get Jedi, I'm gonna build my main toon to be Rifles/TKA also" I took this as a compliment of the highest order. How has Rifleman changed....I think this quote sums it up nicely "If we can't kill it, it must be immortal."

Let's see if I can remember the recent changes as it relates to us old-timers, Amon....
-- Yes, melee penalty is gone
-- Creature warping is fixed
-- Conceal Shot works well... but be careful, it has been reported that sometimes (randomly?) can cause a bleed which will make the critter aggro on you if you don't notice it.
-- It is much easier to level up now.
-- Bleeds JUST got nerfed with last patch... now are affected by the resists, etc.
-- I heard that Bleeds MAY not stack anymore... haven't tried it
-- It is now considered a Very balanced, well-layered profession... one of the few implemented correctly.
-- Rifleman opponents are now adding stun-resistant components into their armor to counteract the Jawa Ion rifle.
Still a great profession... In my mind it is great support for all other Non-combat professions. At master you can pretty much protect yourself from anything while checking harvesters, etc. Plus, as I mentioned in a recent thread called 'Story of the 10 Stormtroopers', if you SHOULD fail one of the rare wilderness scans and 10 STs come looking for you, you can easily take them out with a little muon and a stim or 2.

That and the defense stackers are gonna get us nerfed. Ever try to hita TKM/MRM/0040 fencer?? Good luck! If they fix the bug and stacking, we should be ok though.

1) my rifles are amazingly quicker now. all shots betwwen 1.0 and 2.0 (without specials)
2) dmg, I'm not hitting for anything amazing, I've seen shots of 3-3.5K using strafeshot2. Nothing as absurd as a commando
Ok I'm giving up my commando skills and going rifleman. But I had to comment on this. #1 shots between 1 and 2 seconds at 3-3.5k... Nothing as absurd as commando. Well let me explain something about commando.. I was getting around 5k-7k on NPC with flamesingle2. Took me at least 10 seconds to shoot each shot and had to be 16m or less to land it. If my math is correct 3000x10 seconds = 30k damage at range above 16m. Now thats what I am talking about. Commando Blows HARD! Master Rifleman Here I come.
