Thread: As a commando, I don't think the 2.5 mod vs melee Damage should go.

Hey Quas, I understand what you mean, its because of a bug that make HW hit like they are melee, but at range, which is a major **edit** up from the dev part and should indeed go away.



I posted a thread on the Commando boards to see what would people think of having our max range reduced to 48 m and 32 m increase for the specials. lets see what gives.



I really think rifleman should be commando killers......some , like Rave, are already assuming the position though

Our range is never increasing with thie game engine, guys. . . that's the ugly, ugly truth. How often have you seen MOBs spawn in at under 80 meters? The engine just plain doesn't support what we're asking for. Period. I wish it did. BELIEVE ME I wish it did.

whats up buddy This is Rave from TCO remember, the one you incapped in 1 shot, then again, then when i got up I hit you with 2 headshots and a snipershot and ended your time in the battlefield



You know they are thinking about giving commandos the 2.5x mod too... Im guessing you would change your mind then. Beleive me buddy, no extra rifles/specials/or lower ham cost will make this better.



Im not saying in PvP, but in PvE there should be no 2.5x mod at all, it is just plan and utter bull (edit)!

After thinking about it, and looking at the damage between us and the other marksman classes (their damage is absolute **edit** compared to ours in high end PvE thanks to the heavy armor piercing).. the 2.5x melee damage penalty is fine on a T-21.. should be reduced on say a spraystick..but seriously, this class only costs 92 points to master.. if people want to kite around theyhave the points toget master pistoleer too *shrug*. Pistoleers have the problem of mobs bafing on them too btw, that's the real problem with the 2.5x melee penalty PvE... that we have no method of single pulling baf mobs, fortunately they are fixing thatFor PvP they need to make our armor piercing bonuses workso that we actually hit for more in PvP with a rifle than a pistol. I myself picked up some pistol to help in 1-on-1 pvp (we're awesome in team PvP at master).. grabbed quickdraw, and rogue from the smuggler line.. let me tell you, it's a deadly combo. It's possible to macro weapon switches, so right now Igo low blow,equip rifle, headshot3, headshot3, headshot3 in 4 seconds, panic shot should fit somewhere in there once fixed.

Please read the post carefully, I asked for the ranged / melee bug to be fixed. Next time, it will save you from embarassing yourself with witless comment. I also said I would find it cool if rifleman owned commando and we had to watch out for you guys. But you seem to have stopped reading before that.


Rifleman is not more your profession than mine, its the community property. I have as much right as you to give an input on how I think it should be. We have the right to do it for every profession in game. Its our game after all.....


The 2.5 mod I wanted to stay was melee. Because if rifleman let go of the 2.5 melee mod, you can be sure that your awesome bleeds will get nerf to hell when carbineers and pistoleers come here crying they are underpowered compared to riflemen. If the 2.5 mod stay, you will get a very good answer to those complains.



And Rave, how are you buddy. That was truly amazing that battlefield fight, and I sure would be against adding that 2.5 mod to our class, because we need to be in melee to be effective. it just don't make sense.


But I can live with the 2.5 mod, because I always wanted to be a commando/rifleman. I have been a rifleman for nearly 2 months, so I know about the 2.5 mod.


Then I let go of rifle for some basic medic skills and exploration. It sure help to be able to move through those mountains.


As far as the crafting line goes, I still think it would be awesome, because from one rifleman to another, you wouldn't know what to think of.
