Thread: Poll: what profession are you taking up after you dtop rifleman?
NO way i'm leaven this thread like this, Rifleman,Doctor
I'll keep things just like they are, if you can't cut it, thats fine, but all in all i think this post STINKS
Normally I end up saying "Pistoleer" since its the most effective of the low-cost combat classes.
But then I go out and take down enemy NPC's with one shot from 60 meters, and I get all teary eyed and clutch my laser rifle and apologize for working up templates that would abandon her.
I must admit, I find it VERY hard to even think of dropping RIfle (I got MM and then dropped all pistol and carbine). Then I get 3 misses in a row and grab my sword, WACK WACK WACK mob is down. It used to be a trip to the clone center. ThenI'll get a one-shot right after that. This is a hard choice. Very hard...

If I drop Rifleman I'm being a Chef, gonna quit combat and tell all thenew playersabout an inefficiant form of combat were you use rifles. Never gonna drop the rifle, bass-turds will have to make it so the rifle adds health to your opponant before I drop it.
-Dam can't believe I just gave em an idea to further screw up the profession, sorry guys.
If I dropped Rifleman, it would mean I quit the game. Which prolly isnt far off, with the way things are going.
Later,
I think I'll keep my rifle for at least a month after the speed cap goes in (if it does). You might as well see what the changes are like before giving up all that exp and time.
Although finding out that AP isn't much of an advantage at all was rather disappointing.
Yeah and heavy AP was central to Holo's argument in nerfing our T-21, too bad none of us knew how inconsequential it is.
That and they were testing with 4.0 speed 900 damage T-21s.
I am keeping Snipershot and a dizzy. 2H S-word more fun and less gimped (OMG mind damage!1!)
We have no idea what changes are going to be made to all the combat classes.
None.
So, speculate all you want. Leave the class if you want. Continue providing constructive posts if you want. But please, stop whining.

Rifleman Whose Sick Of Whining Riflemen
Well, I have Master Marksman and 2.25 full lines of Scout... Maybe I'll go BH.

Commando or maybe Pistoleer (because of the 0.5 speedcap)
I've loved PvE with Rifleman and hated PvP but I may keep the mindshot2 vs. Docs/CM's and buffed enemys...
Funny since I've already switched, but like someone mentioned, I'm not dropping any of my Rifle skills because of how insanely hard they would be to pick back up if they ever fix the game for the Novice Rifleman... I've still got some faith that the devs may eventually make this profession playable and fun for the non-masters, but given the way most of the Masters I've talked to put down every Novice in the game, I don't have much faith in that--according to some opinions I've heard, 90% of the Rifleman population (non-masters) shouldn't even post on this board... man, this place would be a ghost town then, wouldn't it? :0
Pistoleer was my profession of choice for the switch (I posted a thread about why in hopes of helping other Novice Rifleman, but it got flamed pretty hard by some very bitter Masters.. anyhoo... ![]()
I switched to Pistoleer and made Novice in about 30 hours of playtime (I know, I'm slow, I had to run to Dath to make some money). That's compared to somewhere around 150 hours for my (now languishing) Rifleman skills. So I'd recommend Pistoleer to any Rifleman thinking about dropping the class... you'll get better speed and better DPS with alot less downtime, no 2.5x melee penalty, and no real accuracy difference (my pistol is just as accurate as my rifle at 60m). Not to mention combat is much faster paced as a Pistoleer, and I find it much more enjoyable as a result.
I'm also a Master Medic, so I really like the fact that my healing pool (Mind) and attack pool (Health/Action) are now separate...because of this I'vemigrated to relatively small H/A pools (750 each)to allow good Strength, Quickness, and Focus--theseare more than balanced by my 1000 point Mind pool, which allows meto stim myself 15 to 20 times during combat, if necessary (this gives me an average of 11250 H/A, without buffs).
All in all Pistoleer is a very fun and entertaining class, and I'm having a much better time than I did as a Rifleman. I'm sure I'll get flamed by some Master who tells me I should grind up to his level before saying anything about the class, but I just don't have the patience to spend weeks grinding to Master before I can actually be useful (especially when I play for fun and the Pistoleer is currently alot more fun to play).
