Thread: 3 seconds fastest possible shot, would you still be a rifleman?

Man, why would you post such a silly thing, "stop crying"....? Whos crying, we are just stating that with the proposed changes the people who grinding millions of rifle XP are gonna be upset, and probably drop the proffession, as PvE will become impossible.
Actually if this 3 second CRAP goes through I am quitting the game all together I didnt grind to master for nothing, I did it for the Speed bonus and for the lamer who said stop crying you have no clue of what this will do, it will completely change the profession from what it originally started as, If they want a new proffesion make a new proffesion dont take one that people have already slaved at away. And for the record they said they would look into adding Damage for classes who were effected byt he speed change.....Yeah right just like I am sure they have looked into the Warping and the Range and the Armor piercing, its ridiculous. and like I said if it goes through I am taking my money away from them let them have someone elses money for beta testing.

But the problem is that your gun is on a scale. Lets say your spraystick currently gets 1 second, and your existing E11 gets around 4 seconds.
Your spraystick might become 3 seconds after the change, and your E11could become 6 seconds.
So this might affect you more than you currently realise.
They will look at our damage then conclude that it cant be raised, I know this, others that PvP alot know this. They can not raise our damage level, so basicly we would just end up shooting 3 times slower is all.
Would I drop Master Rifleman because of it, yes probably, but I have already been throwing around the idea about droping Rifleman. I think the profession is solid as is right now, BUT I want to try out a little idea I have and the only way to do is to drop Rifleman. Still kicking it around havnt made up my mind yet, will probably end up having SOE make my mind up for me, because I really enjoy being a Rifleman as is right now.

notably for rifles they are minded to reduce the 2.5 melee penalty
they claim a rifleman will be able to combo as well as a pistoleer (I don't see how, but the idea is still being developed apparently)
riflemen ... and pikemen ... and carbineers ... and swordsmen will be 'balanced' AFTER they have done the rest of the range/melee changes so that they stack up to the 'popular' classes

I dont think I really understand this "combo" thing however.....its stated that rifleman will have the same "combo" abilities as a pistol user...is this the same a stacking moves in the combat window?
If so i dont see how its equal if a pistol user can potentially shoot 6 shots to our one. This would mean for us to do the infamous mind ham shots and get really lucky and incap a PC target in two shots, they would have time to shoot us 12 times....ummmmm, anyone else see a problem with that? And for us to be semi-lucky we need to hit off 3 of the infamous mind ham shots (and 3 for and incap isstill prettylucky), this would mean that a pistol user can get off 18 shots to our 3? Am I missing something here or confused about this whole new proposal?
Through the comments I have heard from my fellow Snipers, Hunters, Gunners, Soldiers and Master Sharpshooters, I will stick it out, I will never surrender the millions of rifle xp, thats just way too many creatures slaughtered for no reason, soI change my comment from the original post to:

Again, it says might up the dmg, after checking the stats for a while. Also, pls note that if they up the dmg on rifles, these same weapons will still be avail to all those of other classes, unless they only do it to the T21, and subsequently (possibly) added Rifleman cert weapons.
This concept is good in threory, but death in groups...it simply means we'll get virtually no XP. We miss a shot, and by the time we get our second queued up, the target is almost dead by the other group members. Forget soloing because of the fact that you get about 2 shots off and the target aggros you and can close the 64m gap easily within the 3 sec cap. I constantly find myself having to switch to pistol when soloing because of this... not to mention the melee dmg multiplier when carrying rifle. Again, the 2shot rule: If it aint dead in 2 shots, there's no sense in using a rifle against it. It will just aggro to you, close to melee, and hit you for 2.5x dmg,b4 you can get off the 3rd.
I will stick with rifleman no matter they do with them. I swear. As it is now, I am happy with this class, it has many flaws but I choosed this weapon in beta because i liked it and I choosed it again in retail. You all who is whining about the nerfs - I was here when rifles were nerfed in beta - imagine an max 500 hit with HS2 and laser rifle on mob with NO rezist NOR armor. Try to solo that. ![]()
