Thread: made the mistake of doing a bit of PvP again

I don't know about you, Harp, but at 4/1/4/4, I haven't lost to a BH yet (Eyeshot monkeys and Avengers)

I'd like to thank my 60% helmet with a mind encumberance of barely 200, my 1100/615/615 mind/focus/willpower (subpar, yes, I know), and my 598 max damage 7.6 speed T21 (also subpar).

As one who is willing to submit to logic can plainly see, I was:

A) Not MRM.

B) Not fully decked out in ubergear.

Therefore, it's not "the" mistake; it's "your" mistake.

Well first of all let's point out the inconsistency in your logic/language (I don't pretend to know what you know, so I'll take it at face value)

"assume you win. The mind drain from all of that will have your ass sitting down while the BH hits himself with a stim to heal his action"

If I "won," he'd be full in the cloning center. Therefore, I'd like to see him use a stim.

"Melisma, you havent lost to a BH yet? You need to start PvPing more, you cant just throw crap out like that to make yourself look good."

No, I haven't lost toa BH yet. In fact, I PvP everyday I'm on. I like how you assume things about me considering you know nothing of who I am or how I play. Please continue to make yourself look stupid. Laughter is good for the soul, after all.

"I have 500 in focus and willpower. Any more in those pools and Im going to have too low health."

700/530/530/700/455/455/800/615/615 are my stats. Those were the bare minimum secondaries for me to wear my full composite suit before it was sliced. I don't feel like my health is too low at all, actually. Perhaps you realize this, perhaps not. I remember it posted on the forums a few months ago.

"Lowering primaries to boost secondaries in order to wear armor is, overall, a good course of action."

The reasoning is thus. AP1 vs. AR0, according to an armorsmith, is a 50% difference. Wearing armor, then, would reduce an attack by 50%, before the actual effectiveness is calculated. Unless I migrate about 50% of my primaries to wear my armor, the overall balance is in my favor to wear armor.

"nothing in return at all."

With decay, there is something in return, however insignificant it is. You can inflict more monetary damages on him than he can on you. I would guess that you are amiable to PvPing without spending credits on buffs because although you gain nothing in return, you spent nothing. Given, however, that you can (theoretically) inflict monetary damages on your opponent, a "something spent, something in return" philosophy doesn't seem bad at all.

"No other class has to"

I beg to differ. If anybody comes to PvP me without doc buffs, all the better. In a raid a few nights ago, I managed to pop a flushing2 on a BH's action pool as he was spamming eyeshot. The outcome need not be explained.

Your skills are that low and you expect to be good at PvP? My god man what is in your drinking water? I'm a fair lvl rifleman I just need to spend aweek on dant to get the rest of my skills up and grind out the little bit of combat xp I'd need and I will probably hit master.

However I dont plan on going on duels or raids anytime soon. Hell the only PvP I do is defense of AH or other rebel towns during attack and since I dont have sniper shot it is at the expense of my faction points mostly. When you do PvP use tactics fight someone that is otherwise occupied. Fight the guy in the back of the group who has no idea where the shot will come from. Pick off the stragglers. Before I had at lest some shred of dignity for you since I assumed you were at a slightly higher lvl then I when you brought up how crappy we riflemen are at low lvls but to be that low and expect to be good is just somewhat comical. Sorry but now you have lost all respect from me.

lol and you admit that you keep out of PvP nonetheless because you get **edit**ING OWNED (no other way to put it)

please name another ranged combat class (you can include CH into that too) that has to wait until they're master to compete in PvP?

Actually, harpoon, rifleman are by far not the worst for ham costs. consider this: You're wearing a helmet, and draining your mind pool. the only classes that can really target your mind effecitvely is BH with eyeshot (helmet negates this) or another sharpshooter (i have yet to fight a master sharpshooter in all my PvP experience).

now, a scatter gun generally has about 40 Action cost. do you have any idea how much action that costs a BH who is wearing a full suit of high-resist composite armor + shooting eyeshot? I would say that has to cost him at least 80 action per shot. if i had to venture a guess, and i think that is on the very low end of things.

Meanwhile, he's trying to shoot your mind and your helmet is blocking the vast majority of his dmg - while he wastes all that action bar on eyeshot, you whip out your jawa rifle and put two 300+ dmg strafe2's in him and he's incapped. he would have done better WITHOUT his armor on! of course- if he didn't have composite on, you would pull out the T21 and do up to 1000 dmg to him with a good roll. 300 on a poor roll, and kill him just as fast, if not faster. and plz, there is no time in PVP for any class to stim themselves when there is a rifleman intent on killing them. absolutely no time.

do you see what i mean?

here's more screenshots to make you look stupid *NOTE* these are all from my first week and a half of PvP, still learning the ropes. Pre-Patch.*

Just to clarify: Harpoon is the ultimate Noob. He needs to either stop playing, stop posting, or both. I'm in favour of both myself. Anyother voters out there??

That was a bad scatter pistol. i fought a BH once he had a karyt one hitting me for ober 400 (-200 for the Helmet).

Now i have tranfered all my points to mind (1300 mind, 800 focus, 650 willpower). And I have a neuron pixie in my toolbar. Eyeshot spammers are pretty easy now.

just wait for all Master rifleman to really start flamming you.

as you already heard and will hear more off.....

Dont enjoy the game, do not PvP......go grind...do not attempt to come close to anything other then the creature, because until you are a Master Rifleman - you are not allowed to PvP or have any fun in the game.

Every one is just going to flame you, because they are now Gods of PvP and quickly forgot everything that was happening to them before they got there or care...they only worry about their own uberness.

Take a look at that screenshot again.

Notice the first thing he does.

He lays prone.

So basically rather than keeping his distance at max range and keeping movinghe layed still and let the BH get in close.

Sitting Duck.

Stupid tactics.

Of course he owned you

Harpoon, you are right. Everyone is overpowered. Rifleman are horrible. It's not your low in-game skills. Or your playing skills. It's the fault of the game. You will loose everytime.

Now with this insight, just become a BH, and go whining and insulting people on that board. Thanks.

I am amused by this thread.

HARP00N was trying to tell me how lame Conceal Shot is in another thread.

He's a 2/0/2/1 Rifleman. He doesn't even have Conceal Shot.

I have a Wookiee Rifleman. First I never go prone fighting another player. Second I always keep as much distance between my toon and the guy I am fighting. Third I stack on Mindshot 1 and 2 before using headshot 3. I hardly ever get doctors buffs, rarely eat food, and never use spice. Harpoon you really should learn how to fight in PvP. It is quite obvious from the title of this trolling thread you have very little experiance of arifleman in PvP. In reading the screenshot you posted it is quite obvious to an experienced rifleman how poor your PvP skills are, it's not the class, it's not the weapon, the reason your getting owned is you.
