the only problem with that is if the FT still deals wounds while your at 1 life point... if it does then it is huge griefing since all they gotta do is FT you and let you cook. once your at 1 point you cant do any specials and if they slap a mind bleed on you you cant heal and your wounds just cook away.

dunno if that is how it works or not but it would not surprise me if it did. but i for one am not going to volunteer to find out heh.

hopefully that is not the case.

Actually its pretty nice this way. I sic'ed my pet on a Torton lair stuck em all with mind bleeds, well the lair was spawning more than I could kill before my pet would die- So I ran away out of range for aggro let my pet incap, waited 2 min went back there and one shotted em all.If I would have done this before I would have been out of range and lost all the XP because they would have died from the bleeds and I would be over 80m away.

I for one love this new dot method sure it can kill me if i rely on the dot to kill my target off but I can see this is as more of a life saver then a life taker...

I was just on dathomir before the patch. I fought a Nightsister and she laid a monster bleed on me. I killed her and then proceeded to die from the bleed as it incaped me 3 times in a row (and yes that is with stims and everything else!)

with the bleed hitting 1 min - i would have lived and been very pleased (I was 6200m from the nearest city and I needed to go that way!)

Wow lots of good comments, guess this isnt so bad after all the various views given.

Still sucks to go incap and watch a 1000+bleed not kill a person with +1 Mind as he walks up and slays you.hehe

/agree with dissent

Okay, so the creature/NPC/PC I put a mind bleed on will not die until I hit it with one final shot to take it below whatever it has remaining in the pool. Since a random pool attack will hit each pool for at least one point when it hits, even a normal attack will do this. Not that big of a deal from that perspective.

So I only see one downside. If I am incapped after getting a bleed on an opponent, there is now no chance that the enemy will bleed to death before it can get to me to DB me. Not good. But to tell the truth, I can think of a lot more times I had to sit there in frustration waiting for the enemy to die from a bleed after I had been DB'ed than times where I felt the elation of watching him drop just before he got to me. So from that perspective, the bleed was not an automatic save anyway and helped in only a percentage ofthese situations.

On the other hand, with this change, if you get incapped and not DB'ed, your target cannot wander 80m out of range and die on you while you lay there helplessly losing all the XP you would have gotten. Also, you cannot get chased 80m from you target and fail to get back in range before it dies from the bleed any more. You cannot, yourself, get incapped just from a bleed, nor can your friends. Before, you could get incapped, get back up, get back in the battle, get hit with a bleed and be incapped by it. If the incap timer wears off or someone heals you before the bleed is fixed, it is entirely possible for you to very quickly go down again because of the bleed, and the three incap rule will apply and you will be dead. This is especially of concern for a rifleman since it is also quite possible that we will have used up too much of our mind trying to kill the target and have none left to apply first aid or stims to ourselves. And this does not just apply to being shot. Poisons are DoT attacks, so they, too, cannot incap you by themselves.

So, yes, it is frustrating that there is now no hope that the enemy who incapped you will die from a bleed you put on him before he can get over to DB you, but this change has so many positive effects that I will gladly give up those few times when the bleedmay have saved me from a DB. Overall, this is a good change.

Its a fair addition from the PvP world as well.

Before my tactics to kill heavily guarded targets (Imps w/ AT-STs, Docs with large groups, CHs, etc) was to tack two mind bleeds on them and attempt to flee (NEVER into safehouses, I thought those wereretarded) to catch the DB later. I'm a fair person who can see this from another's persective, and I can see how this tactic would be seen as unfair. Its like stealing a kill. This fixes the problem without a nerf, because as has been mentioned, you only need to hit one shot when you've got the person down to1 mind. I'm happy, not sure about the CMs though, since theirs had an area effect.

personally i LOVE it.

last nite i was fighting tuskens with my stats raised to a little over 2500. i got hit by a tusken captain's health bleed for around 1300. normally with only FA2 and the closest doctor 3 kilomeers away this is a death sentence. i managed to kill the tusken and ran off a bit.

i tried applying FA to stop the bleed and it ticked for 1300 bringing me to 200 life as i had not healed. i FA'd myself and rolled low on the stim and got my health up to 500ish and the bleed ticked again bringing me to 1. i didnt die. no insta death. so tossed a camp sat down and started FAing myself and the bleed wore off finally i healed up and went back to battle.

this is a gift from the gods. so what if your target doesnt bleed off just hit it one more time with any shot any weapon and its dead after it gets to 1. but not having those huge bleeds kill you is a huge plus. if you think it is bad then you have yet to be on the receiving end of a bleed in the middle of nowhere.

heh but I bet you got like 400 constitution/strength wounds thougH

are you sure? i remember getting a massive bleed rolled on me by a faction NPC and incapping 2 times... maybe that was the day before the patch.
