I agree with you.

I think it's really ironic that they've nerfed group sizes when the combat revamp seems to be very much about making players group more, even ifthey don't want to. (The group harvesting bonus was the thin end of the wedge, it's a stealth penalty against solo players).

Also, the combat revamp was supposed to be about making combat professions more unique, but we can now do any special with any weapon. To me this just makes everything a blurred mess, and it doesn't make any sense to me.

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

I ended up going back for another round, and noticed some meleers having some success also -- was good to see. As a specific attempt at helping some of the melee folks out (tossing stims on them when they get rooted under fire), I made a master CM/Doc/medic, and learned that not having knockdown recovery is a bigtime battlefield liability, heh heh. I'm thinking I may pair CM with rifleman or commando on a character after the re-spec.

I actually agree, riflemen were supposed to be in a downfall once the attacker got in melee place. But with root, kd, and snare all thrown in your arsenal, the atacker cant even get to the riflemen before getting blown to bits. I think there need to be a few limitations on offense stacking. SO far, my onyl solution is charge shot and disarming shot, that usually gives me enough time to run in close and blast away before they root me, as I WILL NOT join every other player that gets 0004 pistols just for root.

Appearently you did not participate in the TC for CU. Rifleman, while itappearing to be the big dog, has a few things that I think lower its "topness". There are sever recent posts that go over the issues in detail. I would suggest reading them. They will enlighten you I do believe.. My take is that, yes it can be uber, key word there CAN. A person will have to fully understand the pluses and ninuses to make it powerful... Gone are the days of Mastering something, buying the hardware, and killing everything. We will now have to, as I said, understand the skills and use them effectively to be the big dog.

I am really enjoying the information coming out from the regulars who were in TC... It will help us synch up quickly. My 2 crds worth.

Just remember, where you are, is, where you are. ;-)

I agree, useing our full range can be extreemly difficult at times.

I consider all ranged profs to be pretty equal (carbines and rifles at least). Rifles is long range and hits hard, but can't shoot too much without having to rest. I did master rifles/master smuggler and got the root shot from Smuggler so they couldn't run while i was hitting them, worked out great in PvP, didn't try it in PvE.

BH gets defensive stance (or whatever it is called). It's well worth it.

BH also has lots of places to improve your general ranged speed.

What people are saying about Bulwark:
Bulwark.....simply brilliant.
As much as i would enjoy forcefully inserting Bulwark into a wood chipper, he has a point.
We've already went on record as saying you're fine with us Bulwark.

question here is... should one take smuggler or bh for the root shot and what r the bonuses for each.

i tried bh.. outside of the root shot and kd shot...there isnt much to it (the proton carabine hower is yummy looking)...so it might be better for carabines...also the cone attack isnt too bad...

smuggler on the other hand has root and slicing..and im guessing a pistol asmaster weapon...

heres where rifleman gets the shaft... commando also has a master weapon..a rifle...but law and behld its heavy weapons xp for it...

so lets see:

pistoleer -cm

pistoleer-smuggler

carabineer-bh

commando doesnt need rifleman

rifleman? sl? sl doesnt do much...sorry...not even close to the other combat professions...so what then ranger? lol

so yea....rifles is far from being overpowering since they got the shaft as far as profession hybrids go..
