Thread: Wheres my NUKES???

Im a Master Ranger/Master Rifle myself. Am I miffed Ranger got stiffed in the CU? Yes.. but I never expected to outdamage someone that has what is now considered a 'combat' template.



A Master Ranger/Master Rifle should be all about camo/take cover/kill to harvest. If thats not your attitude, perhaps you need to respec your Ranger line to something else.

On a comparison between a pure Master Rifleman over a pure Master Bounty Hunter (i.e. a player with nothing but Master Rifleman or Master Bounty Hunter) the MBH does more DPS than the rifleman hands down. Rifleman isn't good unless stacked with other professions which is probably why those who are MRM/MR have noticed they can't nuke anything but maybe wild wamp rats.

Yeah the Master Ranger that tagged along with me kept going incap once the creatures got within range of him. This isn't to mention that as a MRM / MC / BH 0/3/0/0 I had to tank since rifleman still seem to bring instant hate upon themselves from agros due to poor programming from the devs. The night before I had a MCH tank and as soon as I'd attack they'd break away from the pets/tank and be right on top of me.


With lower defenses and the fact that many high level items are now very social, wild lairs spawn 60% less creatures than missions to which if a MRM/MR pulled missions they'd get level 80 meaning that they're only using a CL of 60 since they gain no speakable defenses in Ranger (+10 to melee and range defense is highly laughable) it makes it almost impossible to harvest for a damn without spending the majority of the time on your back and/or inside a cloner. Camo has always broken faster than mask scent, post-CU rifleman can no longer single pull creatures or agros, Ranger's "to hit" bonus has been worth about an extra 10 points of damage per shot but still has a huge miss rate even on krayts that are laying down. We won't even get into traps and how "effective" they are for Master Rangers vs. swarming mobs.

Master Ranger/Master Rifleman here. Level 80 missions are cake actually. I can harvest 50k units in a couple of hours now. Single pull on creatures is still possible. Not sure what you mean by "they'd get level 80 meaning that they're only using a CL of 60"?!

I really don't think they mean that to quantify role effectiveness, and if it isn't, think adding those numbers really doesn't mean anything at all.

In anycase, they don't add, but the can combine highest values. Generally, professions in the same roles dont stack, they just add flexibility. No, addition is a no-no there

If, you were trying to use those numbers, you would have to use them like this.

yours:

Master Rifle + Master Ranger: 5/1/3 + 0/0/0 = 5/1/3
Master BH + Master Pistols (example): 4/4/1 + 2/4/3 = 6/5/4

how it really works:

Master Rifle + Master Ranger: 5/1/3 + 0/0/0 = 5/1/3
Master BH + Master Pistols (example): 4/4/1 + 2/4/3 = 4/4/3

Only highest values in each role would really apply. But really, the numbers are just an abstraction, not a measure of efectiveness.

So i guess for me it works out to be

Master Rifles + master BH= 5/1/3+4/4/1= 5/4/4

and not 9/5/4 lol, got me all excited for a sec, lol.

The problem with the "Nuking" is that Adv Sniper Shot has to be performed while under cover. Its odd they made 2 attacks for rifleman that you have to use that ability to use. Conceal shot would be fine in that position, but once you use sniper shot your position is revealed. So hence, your best offensive attack is basically nerfed from the get go. And the action cost and special timers make rifleman a waste of skill points.

you wanna see a nuker? im a master rifleman master carbineer pistoleer 0003 0040 medic, i love my build its very fun and strong, you get leg shot and head shot to alternate between for a machine gun like effect of damage... strong, you get criple shot for snare stop shot for root, sniper shot, cover up, the works. for cover to work you must be on a perfectly flat surface i believe, at least it works for me, same for sniper shot also, hopefully they fix this in the future.

Last I checked Advanced Sniper Shot doesn't have to be performed while under cover. The only condition to firing an Adv Sniper Shot is that you be laying prone.
