Rifleman will be excellent again once our specials work. We're now in the same boat as a lot of pre-CU combat professions were. It's pretty galling to have special attacks you're only rarely and arbitrarily allowed to use.

Since it all seems to be a problem with the warmup timer I sincerely hope the problem isn't unique to us.

A lot of specials abilities with warmup timers seem to be failing instead of going off.

If the problem were only happeneing to use, there would be less priority to fix than if every profession had the issue.

I believe that is WTH he is talking about.

I'm MRifles and after the CU, I'm finding that even just 25-35m out, a lot of my shots are missing the target.

Master ranger/rifleman here. I agree that it is frustrating that with this template you are always running and only have like 3 shots to use. With the specials being so bugged you can't get a real feel for the template. If camo/cover/mask scent would work then maybe us MR/MRifles could give this skill set a full evaluation.

I really don't understand the gripes from the MRifles/Rangers out there. I'm MRifles/Ranger3040 and I've been having a blast out in the wilds of Dantooine. I think it has to do with the specials you're using and when you are using em. My action bar never runs out and I never have to run, unless more than one equal level or higher attacks, but that is the same issue with all combat profs. And even if two of equal level aggro me, i can usually come up with a 'creative' combo of shots to handle em both. Once they fix kneecap/sniper shots, will just be icing on the cake...

I don't find myself always running from things my level. I do find that /cover and conceal shot only works for like 5 seconds though - everything seems to be really damn good at finding invisible things

IMO, Rifleman/RifleWoman is pretty bad now.


Before the CU, I could shoot off about 12 to 15 sometimes up to 20 shots straight with my Laser.

All I did was spam either Overcharge or Strafe...I had All my FS boxes in Speed and was doing great.

Now, we are reduced to being on a Timer, and I get maybe 3 shots to all NPC's 10 to 12 shots.

There is no way, in ANY of the star Wars movies I have ever seen, let alone any movie, where there

was a Timer....They took Strafe away from us and I think it's a major Insualt to us with what they have done.

For a Master Rifleman/RifleWoman to be this slow is ridicules. Riflemen/RifleWomen are supposed to

be fast and deadly, not slow and not as powerful.

Like I said, that's My Opinon.


And I Never ran from anything, still don't, but I hope those understand where I'm comming from...

I agree that with the current bugs Rifle is gimped, but I think with the fixes in the works, we're a lot better off than 95% of the other professions out there. I love Master Rifle and doubt I'd ever drop it.

I just wish they would do away with the timers and give us back our speed, and our Old Attack shots.


Like Strafe. I hate the new Icons, as those are not star wars...it's Comic book, cartoony/WoW.


Seriousely, If you have never picked up WoW...go look, SWG took it right from them.


Just give me back my Speed, my Strafe and take the timers out, and I should be ok.

Master Rifleman + Master Squadleader + 0/0/4/1 Bounty Hunter + some FS skills


I'm having a blast as well. My advanced laser rifle packs a punch worthy of a Barret. Oddly the advanced laser rifles are better than the T21 now. My alt is a 12point WS so I've done extensive tests.


Anyway, the sad part is the bugged specials like snipershot etc. but I have faith those will work in time too.


And yea, doing the most damage and always having the enemy aggro on you can be a real bother when hunting in a small group or solo. Still, I like to fight in a larger group and then it's no problem as my pistoleer friends root the enemy letting me pound them hard at a distance.


We are not the Rambo of SWG anymore, strutting around with our machine-gun-T21 strafeshooting everything to bits. We are riflemen, dealing damage at a distance.

Master Bounty Hunter, Master Rifleman, Marksman 4004, Medic 0400, CM 0004,


The bounty hunter specials like critical shot do like the same damage as snipershot so i dont have to wait for the timers on the skills. Only the action is a bit slow. But fighting any non-jedi prof takes like 5secs to kill. Just knock em down and fire 2/4 shots and its done. Unless they heal but that wont help for long .


Only jedi is a problem caus they consta heal and for large amounts. But im able to do allright together with a friend or 2

Since the CU I have been a Pistoleer, Carbinier, and now Rifleman. I was a MBH pre curb. Now am a MR/MCM/Doc 0202. Got buffs, can cure anything thrown at me. Now the coupe-de-grace. Conceal, shoot a level 80 or below from 64 meters, he is down to quarter health before he discovers me, stand up, paralyze, game over. Not even a dent in any ham bar, no energy wasted.



As a group, 30 meters in front of me people wait for me to pull, conceal, pull a target out. They pummel it while I heal from a distance. Is the easiest profession combo I have found just to solo pve, or group pve.


PVP is a whole other story. But still a doable arrangement, that first conceal shot from undercover, makes a hell of dent, then when they charge, surprized when poisoned, on fire, and paralyzed while I make my escape. The healing in group and solo is a lifesavor, they self prescribed buffs help out tremendously, food, this is a very potent combonation.


I have mastered all but AS and BE since launch, I will probably change again. But this seems very eefective post CU for going after Black suns, NS and other high payout targets and loot droppers. Had not let me down yet.

I'm actually fine with losing Strafe, now that we can pick area attacks from other classes and use them with our rifles. We're sort of flip sides with Commando: they deal massive area damage, we deal massive targeted damage. Both of us pull all the aggro while our TKA tanks beg for attention.

Sniper shot has a lower DPS than head shot, and maybe it shouldn't but I find it still makes an enormous difference when it works at all. Getting in that huge first blow buys a lot of time before the target aggros and moves in, and if it one-shot kills then you don't get group aggro.

But we've lost concealshot completely in PvE, as well as rifle concealment. I'm impatient to see some viable defensive tactics for us.
