I have hadthis template, and meditate from tka for wounds, since before the CU. NO respec, I really like the looks of this. You are giving up the number of attacks you can stack on your toolbar by splitting them some for ranged and some for melee. I like the defense mods. Currently swords is the stronger of the two, I'm shying away from using my rifles so much till they get some bugs out(see rifleman board). in the end though AWESOME DAMAGE DEALER.

Is this a good template, or should i walk away and try somethingelse? I like both swords and rifles, and i wanna be able to solo high level stuff.

I dunno LilDee... but that's what I'm going for now. I'll always be a Master Swordsman and hope to become Master Rifleman soon...... Being able to deal damage both close up and ranged seems cool. Also, as a WOoKiee, I absolutely MUST have my uber-bowcaster!

We'll just have to see... I'm 4,3,0,3 rilfe at the moment and just got me furry arse handed to me by quenkers

It's a fine template if you enjoy both ranged and melee combat... but if you want to max out the effectiveness of your template, it's better to stick to ranged OR melee, as the skill bonuses stack.

For pure combat types, Rifle stacked with Pistol or Carbines is your cheapest bang-for-the-buck, SP-wise, since the second marksman prof only requires a singlebasic tree and no new novice skills. Otherwise you'll see people combining rifles with BH, Commando and even Smuggler... plus you get to use all (or almost all) of your combat abilities with your rifle.

If you decided to go all melee, Swords might be advised to stack with TK or Pike for defences.
