Thread: Should we charge for training?
Even though I paid for every skill box in rifle (I think I was the second or third master on flurry, Draxx at least beat me) , I agree with Jagma. Its a cost and time issue, both being miniscule, which is why I never charge.
Of course, people are raising the red flag right now thinking, "But it cost you money to have that skill trained." Yes, but was that a "business expense" or a "personal expense"? I consider it a personal expense because I would have bought it anyway regardless of my being able to profit from training someone at some point.
I ended up having to pay for almost every box of Rifle as I could never locate another rifleman when looking for training. I'm more then happy to give it away to spare other folks the same problem.

However, when asked to train, I never ask for money, because I'd like to see more Riflemen around to keep our class from dying. It's also a great way to meet people and make new friends.
I won't turn town a tip if one's sent over, but I never expect one or demand one.
Money is easy enough to come buy if it's really needed, so I'd rather be helpful than haggle over a few k credits.

I've never charged to train anyone, but I have paid people to allow me to train them (when I needed the apprenticeship points). I've only paid a PC once for training, and I have had to buy a few skills from NPC trainers when I couldn't find a PC around to train me.
I'm the type of person that gives free heals if I have the supplies, and always tips entertainers and those who heal me.
