Thread: Combat Exp (grenades?)
Yeah, 1-1-0-0 will get you a Greater Sludge Panther (GSP) at the moment..who knows after the CH changes. i'm thinkin 2-2-0-0 MAX to get a gsp.. dunno. it's a great tank though. anything with over 5k ham and 50% kinetic resist will make an excellent tank.
for added effectiveness to the Kamurith and Baz Nitch hunting - when you get to a lair, kill the first group of creatures around it. back off 160m for a minuteor two(heal up the pet, regen the mind) and go back to do it again - the lair will be reset and the initial creatures will be spawned again. rinse and repeat - that's the quickest XP i was ever able to find.
youwill probablydie occassionally, so make sure you clone! but the missions are usually alwyas within 1200 of the starport, so it's not a big deal to just run back out and try again.
Another piece of good advice for you all.
On Rori get Levia Squall missions.
/bleed
/throw some traps
/kite (You run faster than Leviasqualls)
you will get 1600 Combat exp per kill. Enjoy
Best bet is to kill everything around the lair with whatever weapon you choose, throw a nade at the lair, let critters spawn, kill critters with main weapon until lair is empty. Then use nothing but nades on the lair itself. Defiler lairs net me right at 4k combat exp. I can run about 10 missions in about 30 minutes, give or take a few minutes, and the extra credits arn't bad either. This helped me level up to Master Precision Striking in a day and a half, was alot of fun to do too =). Of course depending on your level with a rifle will vary what you can take on without help and your combat exp granted by said lair will also vary.
Not to worry though because I was curious and went to Tatooine and tried a Ronto's lair and it gave 3k exp, still not too bad. Also what the other guys posted earlier works great when you bleed the critter first then use the nade. Just keep in mind that if you yourself use a pet to tank or group with someone else whos' pet is tanking for you it will steal some combat exp.
I did this trick before the snorble speed-ups. I would aim/mindbleed 1 and 2 a female (others didn't baf), unequip my gun and peaceso i didn't auto shoot it again, then run up before it notices me, toss the grenade and run. They were easy to outrun and with a good gun/set of mindbleeds, every cycle would tick off on average about 1700 mind. Once it went down I would get 2998 and 299 combat xp for about 3200 each. The kiting might take 2 minutes, but 3200 combat xp takes 32000 rifle xp the old fashioned way. Now snorbles are faster, so it's not such a good idea, but there is another animal that I can outrun and get over 1000 xp off each one. So when I start to feel the need, I might start doing this again.
p.s. If you have good mindbleeds, the damage of the grenade doesn't matter. I buy C12's off of vendors for under 100 creds all the time just for this.
