Waste93,
Tell me how to turn on the timer thing, or at least give me the best method to time Rifle Speed. I am a Master Rifleman with my speed at +90. I have no speed tapes, accessories or anything else. I'll start timing a few of guns now at the +90 and once I get the FS speed, I'll begin timing it then (Hopefully this will be solved by then, but knowing our luck...) Anyway, just tell me the best way to time the stuffr out in game and I'll be sure to record some results.

The option you want is 'Timestamp incoming messages'(Under Ctrl+O as Waste said). Not exactlythe boxI would expect to check to turn on this feature for combat messages, but it's the one that works(and the only one there is as far as I know
)

Gotcha.
I will turn that on and get to work when I have a chance.

heard the call, died at the village during lag, dropped melee speed, burned more xp than I'd rather think about, and tested rifle delay pre- and post- FS ranged speed training.
it don't work.
speed 11 T21, master rifle (speed +90), no clothing/etc mods... 3-4 sec between strafe2's.
same speed, adding +3 'enhanced ranged speed', FS skill...
numbers already to waste, but adding this for the general communuity.

Tried this with both my main and my alt who are both master rifleman. Had exactly the sme results as the before mentioned people using a 7.5 T21 on ahazi. From taking to other friends and guildies...this does not seem to be character specific but a cross server issue which need resolution across the board.
My 2 cents...lol

The real question is currently does "enhanced melee speed" enhance the speed of rifles and other ranged weapons or not . I think it is quite clear from the data here collected (thanks people) to see that "enhanced ranged speed" is *totally* not working.
The question of whether "enhanced melee speed" enhances ranged, or not may well include the solution to the fixing of this bug.
So focus on "enhanced melee speed" and rifles plz
If i was a rifleman I would have tested it but im not one

Oh and here's some info about my friend with 84 rifle speed + the 12 enhancedranged speed using a 5 speedish dx2 rifle. Normally if the enhanced ranged speed worked she would have 96 speed thus speed capping with flush2 However she fires every 2-3 seconds or so, thus I have reason to believe that enhanced ranged speed is not functioning.
Sorry I dont have any hard numbers, but proof is proof. I play a speedcapped swordsman normally so I've done lots of testing with different swords and speed mods before i capped.

I did some tests today using a 9.1 speed T-21 with StrafeShot2. I have 90 rifle speed and the full FS Melee Speed line. I believe I should have been firing at 3.1-3.2 shots per second, but instead I was firing at the speed cap. So yes, something is amiss in the FS combat script.

Thats the point:
Right now the Ranged FS enhancement is broken, but instead we get speedcap with the melee FS enhancement.
I have not begun the FS skill tree. Is it possible to do both? And how much xp do I need for both?
Regards

It is possible to get both. Each FS box costs 1 skill point. So to get the full lines for each would cost 8 skill points.

it costs a gazillion xp per tree.
ok, technically.... 18 million weaps xp + 1.8 million combat xp = 1.2 million FS combat xp(the amount needed to totally train up 1 tree).

The kicker is that ranged speed isn't completly broken... it works on any heavy weapon
so the comandos out there are loving this, getting 1.0 flamethrowers
