I never take cover to conceal shot. I used to all the time... then I discovered it was pointless. You can conceal shot just as well kneeling or prone, and there is no annoying "You fail to take cover!" to deal with.

Berserker Rifle is AP0/Heat dam...kinda crappy if you ask me.

To be a lean, mean solo-machine, get MHS as well. You now have 5 damage types to pick from. When I find an elder that I want to take out, I have to deal with those pesky spellweavers and protectors....Meet my hammer ladies. It nice being able to target the same HAM pool and having 5 different damage types to pick from. Commando would give you Blast and Heat, instead of Blast and Kinetic...but none of the weapons are AP1 or greater and you get absolute crap for Def Mods with commando, so you are SOL if it gets tight and you have to go toe to toe.

....I know, I said none of the commando weapons are AP1 or greater and I know some one is going to start yapping about the RL etc etc etc....I meant the USEFUL commando weapons.

actually, we are awesome against Axkva Minn(the boss at the end of the cave). she is weak against blast and energy. but you are correct, we cant hurt any other night sisters except sentinels.

here i am not even master riflemna anymore, posting on the forums lol. it gets in your blood after 7 months. anyway, you need the +5 rifle speed at master marksman to technically cap out on speed. however, a few skill tapes and armor attachments and your there. spend money, get he armor attachments, and use your extra skill points for some brawler defense or maybe some meds.

tactic for soloing ns elders :

GET MASTER RIFLEMAN

get within 62-60 m of the victim elder...take cover...pop some brandy/ahrisa (ahrisa is a great food that adds around +400 focus for 38-45 minand 33 filling...good stuff for rifleman as with popping 3 of them, and 2 brandies means moves cost nothing in full eff. sliced comp armor...not encumberence sliced) take out your bike and lay under it...you might need it fast..also, make a waypoint to where you are at

now equip a t21 rifle (elders are only vuln to energy for us rifleman) and start hitting your conceal shot button...A LOT...takes around 30 min per for me...got to bored of hitting f10 for a half hour so i made a macro for myself...something to the extent of "/concealshot; /concealshot; /pause 1; /macro conceal;"...now jsut because you have a macro like this doesnt mean you can just start the macro and go watch an episode of family guy and not pay any attention to your computer (just check every minute or so) but you can focus most of your mental energies on family guy. every once in a while make sure that :

A. some spell weaver isn't beating on you with uber special force moves o' doom and unarmed hit 3 (damn npc force-wielding teras kasi masters) and

B. the elder is beating on you in the same fashion and that the elder isnt bleeding. when an npc bleeds...it starts agro'ing you...basically to make it so that us uber 1337 haxor rifleman cant solo elders...however, i've noticed that only about 1/2 of them bleed and agro you. just from personal experience...maybe im lucky heh. if anything agro's you that you cant take out within a min (i.e. spell weavers/protectors/elders with 250k ham still left) hop on your bike and get the heck out of there, soon as agro stops...if its not bleeding...go back, stay a good 70m from the elder if thats what chased you. and walk into range of it, and lay down, take cover, and repeat as necessary

im sure i forgot something vital to this post...and that i will be the cause of many deaths of people trying this tactic...but its late, and i didnt think about that til i was near done with this post...and im to lazy to rewrite everything tomorrow. sorry

I've recently been soloing NS Elders with a bit of a different tactic than using conceal shot. I'm a Master Rifleman with +97 speed, and also a TKM, Novice Medic. Typically, I try to pull the Elder on her own, so I don't have to deal with the others. Should the protectors and spell weavers come, it's as simple as popping on the VKs and going to town. In any case, once I get the Elder by herself I just stand right there and Strafe Shot 2 until she dies. Takes about 8 mins or so to kill her.

This is all done with 80% kinetic armor, buffs, and brandy/canape. I'm also power boosted.

Even with all this it takes the occasional heal to recover.

Hrm....I have my COB maco looped. I never thought it was good for much, but I never need a heal. My HAM hardly moves.....must be worth more than I thought it was.

Additionally, and I may be a special case here, but from 64m out, I can pull any target out of the mob I want. I have yet to see a group of Elder/Protectors/Spellweaves BAF, even if they are all standing right on top of the one I am shooting at. Only time it happes is when I Adv. Strafe when I want to HS3...D'oh.

I knew I was forgetting something. I'll try this again with COB constantly running and see how that works out. Thanks

yeah...works great....I forgot to have /ui action clearComabtQue in my looping macro for COB, guy over on the HS forums pointed it out. Works MUCH better now. May also be worth nothing that I have *cough*couple*cough* of extra points of melee def /KD/Dizzy/Stun/Inimidate from some really sweet SEAs I looted of same said Elders. Actual mileage may vary....

Ok, I've been lookin at this forum for a while, and to my knowledge, a rifleman can solo pretty much anything that isn't immune to it. There are a few bits and pieces on how you titans are capable of this, but no hard information. So could the gods of ranged weapons please enlighten an emerging rifleman as to how you do this? Be as specific as possible please. I am a slow learner.

I'm probably reiterating what others have said, but I am at work and don't have time to read all the posts.

This is how I solo: 80% kinetic composite armor, doctor buffs, Brandy and Canapes for my mind, go prone, and spam HeadShot3. I haven't had anything get to me yet, and I have been hunting on Yavin and Endor. In the case that something does get to me, I am a master swordsman, so I simply whip out my PH or Scythe and down it/they go. BY the way, it was considerably harder before master. For novice I suggeest ConcealShot, but that's just my opinion.

being master CH really helps when you have a nice BE pet out and on guard duty. this lets me conceal shot the elders until i get that dreaded bleed. if the bleed occurs the cat takes off and intercepts the elder before it gets to me. i then get up and start dumping intimidate on it. and switch to strafe2 or HS3 depending on the state of it's HAM at the time. keeping the elder imtimidated allows my cat to tank with great ease.

same routine for krayts. i generally dont bother with with the KD/Dizzy variety just a pain in the butt even with a group.

Don't know about the others, but when I was starting out Rifleman (think I was 2-1-1-2 at the time), I at last discovered buffs, muon and Fishgak surprise. Put on my armor, strolled out on Endor, lured one critter away from it's pack with a bleed shot, and then I'd let my laser rifle auto fire at it without using specials (examine it first, might need to use a Jawa if it has less resist to stun than to energy). You'd be amazed at how rarely you can get hit by vermin. What damage was done to me, I'd heal myself up with a good Stimpack D (was a master combat med at the time). Honestly, if I'd had known spiders had a hard time hitting me, I would have beenMaster Riflemanfar sooner. Doh.
