try all but the last speed slice and 1 damage slice?

I agree with Ackehece--that's what I would do if it were my weapon... though that's mainly just because I like having bragging rights for a damage-capped weapon. A full speed slice would probably be just as effective, if not more so, assuming you choose specials or PUPs wisely to avoid running out of action.

IMO,a damage slice on something that already has the damage 1000+ is a waste of parts.

Go for speed, most definately.

I'm with the speed guys on this one. you're not going to be able to use 100% customisation on it with the max speed slicing but the damage must be near capped and critical hit will only increase your chances by 1% with a single level slice. Get SAC lowering pups and chew on some blob candy for action regen then that guns going to hurt when you keep hitting someone with it.

Not true. a full damage slice on a weapon will only add a max of around 100 points of damamge to the min/max damage and that would require an already high damage value. The extra 100 points in combat will ultimately add about 30 extra points of damage per-hit.

Speed, on the other hand, can reduce the base speed of a weapon by about .6 to .8 seconds on average which means rifles with a typical speed of around 2.5 are reduced down to a base speed of about 1.8 .. and thats BASE speed. Add to that rifleman speed mods and you're looking at a rifle with around 1.02 speed which in combat results in a DPS of around 400 to a DPS of atleast 570 .. which ultimately will be a combat winner in both PVE and PVP as it allows the chaining of specials to produce an almost continual fire.

I did a full speed slice on the 4th Sordaan wager loot rifle and my modded speed was 1.5 and I don't even have the marksman rifle branch. I can only image the speedof this rifle in an MR's hands ... and with its 900+ max damage, its lethal.

I try to stay as far out of melee range as i can, so for me Min damage is what i go for. But your right speed would also help a great deal. You'll definatly get the kill faster.

The big reason i like min damage is with the "High end" critters you will hit for the minimum damage more often than a mid range or max damage.

If I recall correctly, the damage will cap out after the level 1 slice at 1183. I'd skip the damage slice. I agree with the recommendation for a critical slice if your modified speed is 1.2 or so. A 10% critical slice along with critical shot may produce some nice results, but I'm not a BH, so I can't speak from experience.

my new trand rifle, is like so:

2.47 speed

504 / 1168 (min / max dam) so far the highest min dam on our server (so I was told, on any rifle on Shadowfire)

66 accu

31.05% wound

337.92 dps

sac (capped)

I was recommended by A LOT or people to get a 12% slice, which I did.
