Thread: Soloed my first elder

aye ive lilled a few elder but they very rarely drop any good loot only thing they do is reck your armour i tend to stick to Protectors , spellweavers, are sentainals as these drop more loot i find have never good anything except credits off an Elder

congrats, i have taken down 8 in the past two days of just starting to really try and fight 'em. only really decent stuff i have gotten is a CA with +25 to rescue and +22 general ranged aiming. As well as a LVA with Def vs Int. +21 and Polearm Speed +25. Too bad the damn thing has 6.5 speed and 49-196 damage though... oh well.

I recently started to kill those high end mobs myself...So far, my total is up to 1 Elder, 3 Observers, and 1 Executioner, and not a single damn thing to show for it.

renewed my master swordsman and i say he dident have any medic, so i took up novice and got 4440 and decided i would see if i could hold a chance against one. When i finally found my elder(after getting a +7 2haanded melee speed from a weaver) i saw she was holding a stick so she dident do much damage but her bleeds are way nasty like -400 mind. long story short a jedi 2 jedi came to kill steal me, a bh had a mission on him, the bh killed them and i continued to kill the elder. 30 minutes later shes dead but warped 4 times! and i looted 11unites of heavy duty leather wow.

when she turns to run away, usually at around 30k ham. spam /taunt on her and she will reaggro and you dont need to chase her down from warping.

ty for the info, but next time i try to solo a elder i will master doc so i can heal the bleeds and dizzy.

You dont need Doc to friggin cure your bleed. I solo them fine with 4040, Stim D, one first aid drops the mind bleed (leaving weak health and action bleeds...you can do it twice more to keep it).
Take that Doc skill pts, and invest in Master Brawler, Intimdate 2, Warcry2, 2hspeed....thats where its at

i agree, after speed capped, you just can't waste time with anything less than an elder when you get hooked on uber loots like i am at the moment. a stack of premium crystals that i'm sold for 4-5 mil each, some sweet dot lances, and a +25 block CA
i ain't gonna get that from a protector!~
and at 10 mins per elder give or take, and with intimidate2 i lose about 1k or so condition on my armor(OH NO!! lol) per elder, i really don't see the benefit of killing the lesser NS anymore when i am consistently getting a loot off the elders and to be honest, statistically i always have. about 1/5 will drop nothing. otherwise it's a premium crystal, worth it, a lance, sometimes worth it(buys a new suit of armor and pays for the expenses at least), or it's an uber CA.
granted sometimes you get crap like leather and clasps, but c'mon, old folks have the neatest stuff. you just gotta keep working on them, because eventually you WILL get an uber drop.

Probably the best way to go for a non-FS swordsman would be:
Master Brawler
Master Swordsman
TK 4004
Fencer 2000
Medic 4040
(Scout 1000 is possible too, can be a treat chasing elders up hills)
You can hold onto this template until you hit the FS grind (keeping firmly in mind you don't have to go Jedi), during which you could take up the FS melee lines (acc/speed) by simply dropping the Medic to 2040, retaining the same capabilities and even having enough points to take two other skills (spending them in Ranged Defense I and II would cap your innate defenses save a Lightweight Military Pack).
Perfect 250SP usage, bleed heal, self buff, speed capped, Stim-Ds, both Intimidates and Warcries, +20 TN, ability to harvest (which can pull in as much credits as loot hunting if you're persistent)...what else could you want?
