I had the full branch, I was a 4004 marksman, back when I was a novice ranger.
At that time I did a solo hunt on Yavin, was pretty much out of my depth, novice ranger, novice fencer and marksman. I found the warning shot really helpful to save me from getting incapped as much as I would have.
However, I'm master rifleman and 4344 ranger and have had to drop ranged support to get here, but as my rifle skills got better I found I needed warning shot far less. In fact, the big difference comes when you get /concealshot, this shot is your bread and butter until you hit master rifleman.
So, I found ranged support useful at the time, and I wouldn't have been without it. However, I think that dropping them has been a good trade for what I've gained; Master Rifleman and (almost) Master Ranger. As has been said before, you kill most things before they get to the point where you'd want to use a warning shot.
The times these days where I might have used warning, I either slip into my Hunting Armour, or throw a phenacine dart, run away and /headshot3 or /strafeshot2 spam (include a few stim-B applications into this). Sometimes I do both
