Thread: PVP-combat macros & PvP tips
how did you get a T21 with 889 Max damage? I have been out of the game since august. When I left the best was like 420 un-sliced.

I simply do not see why people keep whining about nerfing commandos, they suck in long range duels.
Half the problem was the RTEF and now the group TEF. I really havn't had a problem with commandos since they stopped heavy weapons doing melee damage, even then I did ok against them.

I do ok against Commandos as long as I don't let them get close to me, this seems fine to me. If I don't get them down before they get their heavy weapons in range I'm dead. I can live with that.
The group TEF system is now the number one problem with PVP as we should have expected once they removed the RTEF issue. There are certain groups of people who are just not happy unless they are griefing others. They are using the group TEF to artificially prolong fights that should be over. Three guys should NOT be able to grief 25 players for 2 hours. That they can and do (even though they die over and over and over again) is proof that this too must be fixed. There are a number of ways they might try to fix this but I'm not sure what is the most effective. I know this it is wrong for a guy who is covert and blue to be able to walk up to me and start blasting me with me having no way of knowing that he has a TEF against me. It is also wrong for me, an overt, to be db'd by a covert who is blue to me, especially since he doesn't get tef'd by doing it.
Easy fix: Coverts can not attack unless they are directly attacked by the player. If you want to help your friends fight the nasty Imps/Rebs then go overt.
A couple more fixes I'd like to see: Dragging corpses gains you a TEF. No DBing unless you can attack a person, DBing gives you a TEF. Ressing gives you a TEF.
I think people should be discouraged from fighting as coverts. Maybe it's just me, but having someone I can't attack as an overt being able to attack me is rather annoying, as is having a covert drag a overt into a house so they can get ressed.

The group TEF was designed to allow friends to help protect each other when they were out together and one of the group was attacked. It is UN FUN to watch as one of your group is killed by a group of overt faction members while you can do nothing. I agree with this but it needs to be balanced so that I can't exploit that purpose. I'm not sure doing away with it is the best solution. But something to allow the intended purpose but to prevent it from being easily exploited the way it is now. Someone once suggested getting rid of the TEF and replacing it with a Temp Overt Flag..that might work. I hate the TEF System as it is. Allowing someone to shoot at another player without that person having the abililty to defend themselves until the first shot is fired is annoying. That system is in place for one reason, to prevent you from generating a tef (like healing a player) and then opening fire on me this isn't how it is being used, it is being used to gain a tef on me by getting me to attack your overt group member or your pet that isn't stored yet and then you have a free shot at me. I think the group TEF should be two way. If you don't want to be shot don't group with an overt.
I do agree that absolutely NO DB's should be performed by someone who cannot be attacked by the opposing side. That is completely unfair that you can walk up to me without risk to yourself and claim my faction points.
I can agree with the dragging too. The second I use ANY medical skill on someone in a battle I am part of that battle. Which is why when I heal someone in the tavern in AH I equip my rifle
