I agree, the ALR looks like poo. Honestly, it looks like a plastic toy.
Now the T21, that looks like a freaking cannon. I'd take that any day. Not to mention the trando riffle.
And i'd also take the LD-1 for my kinnetic riffle. Honestly, that thing was made for tat

TRANDO RIFLE FTW!!!!!
for looks and for damage.
t21 as well, but a good t21 is hard to find these days with all the tissues you'd need.

best rifles available at present (in no order):
Fallan-Hyper Rifle or LD-1 - both are kashyyyk quest rewards and to kinetic damage, they come with a max damage of 915 unsliced.
Transdoshan Hunting rifle - also quest reward from kashyyyk, and can also be player crafted. energy damage
Heavy Lightning Rifle - player crafted and can be made easily by good weaponsmiths at cap.
Assault Bowcaster - also kinetic damage and have really high max damage but you have to be a wookie to use them. I have seen them with 1400's max damage.
DC-15 clone trooper rifle - Boba Fett's clone relic quests. stock max damage 915 energy damage unsliced.
Advanced Laser Rifle - player crafted and often hitting the caps. its a lvl 54 cert so its useful to any ranged class.
all of them make for a nice collection

The ALR is the popular choice.
