oh _ and before i got flushing2, i was bleeding 4-6 levia squalls at a timeon Rori, kiting them while they ticked, then HS'ing them. (they run extremely slow). if they are still there, give'em a try. just don't bill me when you start having nightmares of giant wabbits and have to go through 20 hours a week of therapy.

do the reset lair trick on leviaSquall lairs for added xping swiftness.

I just made master rifleman this past weekend. I started the second day and averaged about 1-2 hours a day (sometimes more, sometimes none at all). I found rifleman excruciatinglypainful to advance until I got midway upRifle Specialist (speed increases). I think it took memore than4 months to make 2222 rifle, and 1 month to finish it up.

Other people have commented how much better Riflemen get when they hit master, all I can say is OMG. I went running around Dathomir killing everything once I hit master. Most of the time I didn't even need touse specials. Just the normal shot from my T21 was good enough.

I'm alsoaCH whichhelps immensely. OnceI got flushing shot 2 (AOE), man it was over. I lived on Dantooine the last month doing piket and bol missions. Pays fairly well also.

The key is to go after stuff that is high XP, but easy enough to take at your level. You have the first line of Rifleman now, so you have a good mix of attacks to use (Mindshot1+Mindshot2+Headshot2s), or Flushingshot1 for Stun and Flurryshot1 for dizzy and random pool attacks, and Concealshot for doing random pool damage to targets you could not otherwise handle.

Go with groups if you can, or if you are going to solo, rely on Concealshot or pets to tank for you to get bigger XP. If you cannot get CH as was suggested earlier, then get a Mountain Krevol or a Rock Beetle while you still can. These are good sturdy tank pets that a non-CH can use. The upcoming changes to CH will put these varieties out of reach for non-CHs, so use them while you can. Once those changes go into effect, non-CH pet tanks will be far less effective (max level 10 instead of 15, if I understand the changes correctly).

Pickets on Dant are a good choice. If you do not use Concealshot, go after the females first. Same with Snorbols on Lok. These groups do not bring a friend (BAF) when you attack the females.

However, if you can get a group or have a good CH pet tank, go after baz nitch lairs on Dath. I would not do this solo with a non-CH pet until you get the Area Effect shots. A non-CH pet will not last long enough for you to pick off 4 or 5 one at a time. Until then, go with a group, use a good CH pet (if you can), or use Concealshot. If you are soloing and using Concealshot, I would recommend mutant Baz Nitches. I was getting 4650 XP per on these on Saturday.

Or, if you don't have a complement available or perfer to solo (like I do) try the Pickets on Dant. Use your conceal shot (while we still have it!). I have flushing shot 2, but I don't group, so it hasn't done a lot of good for me, guess I'm stubborn. To me, you have one of the best solo tools available, conceal shot.

i cant wait till im master just to see how awesome it will be. Im 2/1/3/2 right now and yes flushing shot 2 helps alot. I like doing pickets the most so far but sometimes them dang things attack me instead of my pet lol. Also hurrton stalkers are good i think.

I have a question for u masters. How much damage on average do u hit for with strafe shot 2? I hear alot of masters talking about it as their choice of a special.

I know exactly what you are going through, being a very casual gamer, 10 hours a week if I'm lucky.
Also I generally play after work and being in Australia, it tends to work out at about 4am or 5am soI'm forced to solo a lot of the time.
Also I don't tend to grind much, I like to wander around see the sights and talk to the few people I meet when I'm on.
This is fun but it does make mastering any proffesion slow, having a little CH helps me but then I tend to find myself wandering all over various planets looking for cool pets.
I'm sure I'll get there eventually (KotOR is taking up a sizeable chunk of my time also now) one, then probably get a holo telling me to master image design or become a master chef

I say stick with it aslong as your having fun.

As a long time master of our profession, I can tell you that being a master is a treat. It took me a long time, and I did it BEFORE we could hit anything. Never had the cash for a pre nerf T21, until now and now they're gone.

as for is it worth it ........

Last night while adventuring with a rifleman prodige, I happened across a group of 3 trying to kill a graul mauler. It's health bar was only half full.

We watched these pistol pukes (and their pets) for about 2 min.

The WE opened up. Spam hs2, no bleeds. 15 sec later dead mauler. Bewildered pistoleers. Laughing rifleman.

I see alot of people posting to use your pet and flushing2 to get XP. This does work great, I used this method and XP racks up quick. I have told my friends of this method and some can't get it to work for them, you have to do this right for it to work. This is what I did and I found this to be the quickest way to run up the XP.

1. Target the lair and stand about 55m-60m away

2. Have your pet attack the LAIR, not one of the creatures. This will make every creature of that lair attack your pet, essentially bringing them all to the lair.

3. While you still have the LAIR targeted, wait a moment until all creatures are near your pet. Then spam flushing2.

This will do damage to all the creatures without them going aggro on you because your are targeting the lair. You will damage the lair and force the spawns to come out faster, when they come out they will be closer to your pet and aggro your pet(since your pet is also doing damage to the lair). I used this on Huurton Stalker lairs and took the entire lair down in about 1.5-2 minutes and was getting between 25-30k XP per lair.(Only on Huurton Stalkers, the other Huurton lairs don't give out that much XP).

Use Muon Gold so you can spam flushing2. Every now and then I would get a lair where the spawns would come out further from the lair and aggro me, just kill the one that does and move to another side of the lair and continue on with the lair. You have to be able to adjust.

Hope this helps(when I made Master Rifleman i went and used this same tactic only with Strafe2 instead of flushing2 and cleared the entire lair in about 20 seconds)

I've been playing about 2 months, and I'm only 1-0-0-1 into what will eventually become Master Sharpshooter. I take my time ingame and haven't been trying to level up Rifleman quickly, because I've been focusing on Medic. Now, I'll be focusing solely on rifle skills. It takes awhile, but grouping would probably help a lot. 10 hours a week is minimal, unless you can lump the time into one or two days (weekend). I hope you have fun while progressing.

I did my grinding on hurtons on dantooine. They give 1k-3.5k xp and have low energy resistance. And they are faily easy to tank.

i find that using muon gold isnt always necessary. boost your focus to 1200 or more with food/drink combos and you can spam atacks with your normal mind totals. because the specials will take very little blue away. i have found that migrating my stats more to focus and not just Mind was useful for me as a rifleman because i really dont have the mind drain problem that i hear about on this forum so much. my focus is base 600 or 700 and i makedrinks and foodin the artisan line that boosts it another 400-500. at 1000+ focus, you can go for a long time spamming specials
