They explain AP in the armorsmith forum. For every level of AP your gun has above the targets armor rating you get a 25% increase in the damage. If you use anAP 3 gun against an amor rating of 1 creature (light armor) and the shot does 1000 damage then it's (1000 X .25) + 1000= 1250 then again forit being 2 points above the armor (1250 X .25) + 1250= 1563. So a laser rifle would do 1250 and the t21 would do 1563. After this is calculated the resists of the armor are subtracted. Myself I hate laser rifles and use them to kill lairs so I don't wear out my t21. Oh ya and if you use the laser on a heavy armor critter the damage is reduced by 50% before the resists are subtracted. So the t21 would do 1000 and the laser would do 500.

I used to think that, but I can prove that "ifresist> 0then" your statement is true but there is an "else" part where damage = 1000. Conversely this is good for low AP weapons trying to hit hi AR. If we get a truely beefed DLT20a (AP0)and get a special on it and do 1000, going against an AR1 would get us 500 damage. If the target was vunerable to Energy (DLT20a's type) it would go back to 1000. I think this latter part is what the code was intended to do, but the previous part where AP-AR > 0 I think there is a coding error where something was supposed to kick in, and is not.
