I agree that it's a range thing. Until I learned to always stay within 64 m of the spot where I found the mob, I was losing XP if I got incapped and he died to the DOT after wandering away. I always lead with Mindshot, followed by 2 Headshot2, if the mob is tough enough that 2-3 Headshots won't kill it outright.I'vealso changed from kiting to switching to 2H sword if I have to get into close range.

I've had NPC's die while walking towards my incapped form to DB me, hehe.
