I have a very simple request, seemingly simple to implement, that would make my day and might boost the experience for other riflemen.
I'm bothered by the fact that our powerhouse rifle, the gigantic, heavy armor-piercing, blast damage rifle gives off the same old, soft, high-pitched hum that a laser rifle gives off (I'm big into the atmosphere of the game, and was one of the big pushers forspecies-specific sounds and constant background music).
I don't think the T21 should be as high profile as other blast damage ranged weapons, since rifles in SWG are used in stealthy attacks.
But when I was watching A New Hope the other day, I saw Chewbacca firing the T21 rifle in the detention block of the death star with Han and Luke, and it sounded cool... sounded powerful.... and I think that's how it should sound in SWG.
I've heard talk about some work on sounds/music that will be done after the space expansion. It'd stink if something this simple had to wait that long, but if anyone else feels the same way, please respond to this post.
If others would like this small touch added to the rifleman experience, please help me get this to our correspondent's attention (whomever the new one is). I know there are probably bigger issues, but I was hoping this simple addition could be tagged on the end of the big to-do list.
Actually he was carrying the DLT-19 which is a variant of our DLT20a. If I recall right nobody ever fired the T-21 in ANH nor the DLT-19. I for the longest time thought that Chewbacca carried and fired the T21 in the Detention block but after watching ANH a few months back I noticed not only did he not have a T21 but he never fired in the detention block.
From what research I've done the T21 is suppose to be a concussion weapon so it falls under neither blast nor energy. Also, the Tusken Rifle at one point was kinetic and the spray stick was to be an acid based weapon. The Lithium rifle was for a short time Kinetic as well and the Berserker rifle was suppose to be blast though was changed to heat with an AP0 rating. The Tusken King rifle is still kinetic (do the quest for Brovo to get this) yet even a master Rifleman isn't qualified to use it. If I recall right the DXR-6b Disruptor rifle was suppose to fall under concussion yet it was given an acid as its damage.
Granted this is SOE's version of Star Wars but still for the life of me I cannot understand how they figure on all of this. How does a centuries old rifle make an explosion sound, fire projectiles yetproduce energy damage? How does a palm sized weapon that fires green streams not considered acid? Best of all, how does a weapon with "Disruptor" in its title fire anything but disrupting damage as in concussion?
Oh and that weapon in the trenches of Hoth, wasn't that the E Web? Also food for thought, I read somewhere that Jedi could block against all ranged weapons except those that dealt out concussion.
I dont Believe that was a T21 that was being used. Im not going to argue I havent seen ANH since a few weeks ago but I seem to remeber the T21 was only seen being carried by the stormie commander in Eielsy and that the detention block gun looked more like a German MG42(which it was converted from). Again Im not sure and could care less what type of gun that was just wanted to pint that out. And new sounds on the T21 would be great.

the T-21 was blast early on but commandos and other peeps complained their butts off and the t-21 was nerfed in damage and their damage type was changed to energy.
the Tusken rifle was indeed kinetic until the patch before mounts came in, after that all tuskens became energy, this same patch also changed the spraystick as well, silently also, not many people noticed it until much later when the Nightsisters resists and such were changed and rifleman found out they couldnt kill certain ones anymore.
the devs claim that the tusken and spraystick were "always" energy but im here to tell you that this is an outright lie. when i first started this game back in early July, tusken rifles were available on the bazaar and had kinetic as its damage type but since the damage was so small hardly noone used them.
Considering how 'pre-nerf' T-21s still outclass almost all newly crafted ones(krayt-enhanced T-21s being the possible exception), I don't think this is true.

Almost had it right. Early on it WAS nerfed, but then due to a HUGE petition the devs chaged it back to its origonal damage (not damage type)
