I kept hearing it... "Wait until you hit master" or "rifleman are uber" etc..
Well, after 8-9 months (however long it has been since launch), I have finally reached my goal of Master Rifleman, and all I can say is wow. First let me say that I am by no means a power gamer. While I have logged a ton of hours in the game, I have done it doing things I enjoyed. I spent 2 whole weeks doing nothing but fishing, because I enjoyed it. I have also mastered 4 other professions in the process (some were for fun, some were for the "hologrind"). But nothing short of opening my FSCS will have made me quite as happy as I was last night when I trained in Master Rifleman.
Anyways, back to the point. Despite what I head about the difference between even 4/4/4/4 and Master, I never believed it. I always kind of asumed I was missing the boat on some tactics or something, because never in a million years did I think there would be that drastic of a difference.
Boy was I wrong. I went from being able to handle myself pretty well in PvE (asuming I was buffed properly), and hold my own in groups, to completley dominating in PvE solo. I absolutley decimated a group of duloks last night, and I barely broke a sweat.
Anyways, I am done rambling for now. Just wanted to say, that after 8 months or so, I am a Master Rifleman, and I couldn't be happier that it was worth the wait.

Wow 8 months?
Ive been playin 2 weeks and have managed to get to Rifles IV and now got up to 1/4 of the Novice Rifleman. That 1/4 took 2-3 days of solid play!
I went on a hunt for Rancors in a group and I only manage to drag in 500Xp a time...
Im quite interested in becoming Master Rifleman (one reason is because of that damn holo
) and still experimenting with drifferent weapons, as you can imagine Im pretty weak at the moment having trouble killling anything but correlian butterfly's without buffs. Hopefully I wont get bored with the help from you guys...

Awsome I just mastered too! But enjoy, because in like a week they will nerf it because there are too many rifleman so the people like you and I, who took more than 4 months to master a class so we can finally enjoy the game, will have that taken away. I am mostly a solo player so when they nerf this I will probably be done. I just can't imagine another 4 months trying to master something just so i can start doing the fun stuff again like nightsisters and jedi. Its funny how long I worked to be able to do these things and now they are going to take that away. I have been master for 2 days.

I distinctly remember my first pvp kill as master, was using a Tusken Rifle for the first time then too, and yes, wow was the only thing I could say at that moment
congratulations ... but 8-9 months? would have given up long before that ![]()

Congrats mate, I am no power gamer also and mastered a few months back, but the difference is still shocking.
I play on Scylla every now and then, leveling up another rifleman just to remind myself what it is like without speed.

Congrats, it took me about 6 months to master it myself so I know how you feel. God the first 4 months were impossible to do anything unless you were lucky (people who are pointing out how you got it in a week don't understand what we had to live with at launch) it sure was a hard trip. Sadly it's not as glorious or rare as it used to be but master sharpshooters are still a sight to be seen for this old Bothan. Way to stick it out.
