I'm master rifleman/TKM and in most cases I don't use TKA, pretty much only in duels or against jedi. In most battles the enemy will start out of combat range and you can blast them with your rifle before they even get close. The Jawa rifle is therifle I use mostin pvp, I'll sometimes use the T21 but it's not often that your enemy stays at 50-60 and with the weapons switch delay it's not worth the little extra bit of damage you might get. Also since the jawa does stun damage it cuts through mostarmorsince most armor has 30-40% stun resists and 80-90% energy resist. Add to that a psg that has maybe another 30%-40% stun resistand then you should probably use another rifle, but there really isn't any way to tell what they have on. I use T21 for long range battles and jawa for everything else and it works pretty good. Remember, kiting is your friend and you can kite everyone, even pistoleers and carbineers will try to crowd you.

tkm is not too bad in PvP with rifles.. my current temp now is, mrm 4303 tk 0440 fencer and pistol tech. works really well.. and as far as using T-21 in PvP. i picked up a nice little 650dmg T-21, sliced.. lastnight. with power up its roughly 851dmg. cuts through comp armor like its nothing. same with the 565dmg jawa.

I am going out for master rifleman/master tka + the defence tree of pistoleer. i am just looking for some pvp strategies... What gun to use and how to handle versus melee professions.I have a T21,DXR,and JAWA. jsut sorta wondering whether its best to fire and use tk skills when they get close, cuase i know tk is not best pvpers...... So should i just keep my rifle out and move back? or put it away and start beatin on em? any suggestions?

Quick question, some of you are saying to take 1040 medic with this template, how much do you heal for?
I have 4100 medic and with 450 strength stim-Bs I heal for 1100 on average...
And like other people have suggested TKM in PvP is good for unarmed / Jedi opponents or for dizzy + KDing people and then switching to rifles.

I hit for about 1100-1400 guess its preference with the medic...more bf=less heal.
On the jedi subject though TKM pros: Best toughness, Dizzy KD, Head Hit, Meditate....Pikeman Pros: AOE Dizzy and KD,DoT weapons, *cough*mindfire*cough* And the block to go with rifleman...I'll say from experience nothin scares a lonejedi more than mind fire.

Let's compare:
The Rifles-
Jawa has:
- Stun damage
- So-so accuracy
- AP1
- Low-Medium damage
- Low HAM costs
DXR-6b has:
- Acid damage
- Excellent accuracy
- AP2
- Medium-High damage
- High HAM costs
Use these rifles against-
Jawa Ion rifle:
- Composite armor without Stun protection
- Composite armor with very low Stun protection
DXR-6b
- Defense stackers
- PSGs
- Armor too well-protected against Stun damage
PvPers have-
- High HAM(DXR-6b wins via higher damage)
- Composite armor with good Stun protection(DXR-6b wins via higherAP and damage)
- Stacked defenses(DXR-6b wins via accuracy mods)
- PSGs(DXR-6b wins via damage type)
- Buffs/food/drink/spice(DXR-6b wins because, as a PvPer,you too should have these things to negate anyMind cost on your rifles
)
That does it. I may not have covered everything(it is very late), but I do think that will be enough to show you the DXR-6b will be your choice in PvP against a prepared opponent. Against someone that doesn't know better, the T-21 or Jawa Ion Rifle could be the better weapon. However, that part is up to you to decide. ![]()

Picking the right rifle is important, but a pretty easy process. The rifle speed and your speed mods are going to have an impact. You basically want the highest dps possible. Looking at damage type against the protections of your enemy will tell you what each rifle's end result dps will be and you simply pick the higest one most of the time. The exception being if you are having trouble hitting a defense stacker.
It ends up being a toss up between the Jawa, DXR-6 and the T21. If you can hit the speed cap and if your enemy has complete stun protection including a PSG the T21 wins out. Take away the PSG or better yet find those players that don't PvP with stun armor and the Jawa is your best friend. I usually decide which to use based on the player. If they PvP a lot then they are going to know more and probably have stun protection. If it looks like they are new or only rarely in PvP then use the Jawa.
Don't forget to protect yourself as well. Get stun layered armor, keep Imp PSGs on your hotbar (more than one) and get the full array of foods and drinks (not just brandy).
Hitting the speed cap is important as it can bring up your dps significantly. About 97 is what you need it to be to spam strafe 2 at the speed cap with most T21s. But if you end up using the Jawa a lot it can be considerably less than that. At Master rifle you have I think a 90 speed mod, 95 if you also master Marksman. Skill tapes are expensive, but an option if you can find them.
I am a TKM/Master Rifleman and have some pistoleer for defense but have also mastered Marksman for the extra speed.
Most people use only mind hits in PvP, and that is a solid strategy. However when kiting remember that you have a dizzy shot and landing that keeps someone from using burstrun. If you are up against any type of melee profession, land a dizzy first off and keep room between the two of you. Burst run if you need to but kite as much as possible. Once you have that room and can kite safely then of course the mind attack is the way to go.
Against defense stackers, especially those fencers with Center of Being Macros that are tough to hit, land a stun state on them.
TKM is a great addition to Master Rifleman but you won't be using your TKM in much PvP combat against most PvPers. Against a Jedi for sure switch to TKM, but otherwise use powerboost, keep Force of Will ready and just being able to heal your own wounds, including the mind wounds during a brief pause in a battle is great.
Use power ups and remember that having a good min damage on a weapon is good because of ranged damage mitigation.
Anyway, I'm not an expert PvPer by far, these are just things I have learned along the way using this template, good luck!

heres another question since that post got so many responces: DXR or JAWA? i knw jawa jdoes stun damage but sometimes i see poeple using the distupter anyway in pvp.... perhaps cause of the low damage of the jawa? and the accuracy bonus of the disrupter?
