ive been workin on my alt tryin to make himmaster rifleman master fencer 4004tka and novice med. any suggestions on things better let me know! thanks

Why Fencer 4004 and not 0440, which gives state defences, since melee defense is almost capped already if you master both Rifleman and TKA.

I once had this great template...it kicked ass, master brawler, master rifleman, tka 4004, fencer 0400, novice medic, novice pikeman. I had novice pikeman bcz i have some awesome 468 mind psn DoT's. But you are capped on ranged & melee defense, and have meditate, and rifleman. which is like ranged swordsman with stun damage

I think that polearms and rifleman would be a good template cause of the extra block but other than that id say swordsman. My template is TKA 4004, Master Swordsman, Master Rifleman.

this probably gives you the best 'out of the box' offense and defense for both ranged and melee. all you need is +5 rifle speed (+7 preferably) and yer good to go.
if you want to have even more defense vs states (but noticeably less melee offense and other benefits of TKM)try:
Master Rifleman
Master Fencer <--- relies on dots for dmg in PVP,unless opponent isn't wearing stun armor
Trickshot
Medic 2030
(this is my current template, and it's loads of fun, but honestly TKM should be more effective when in melee mode). i just like using fencer since it's a little more uncommon than TKM.
I don't suggest Swordsman for PVP, as it's too inaccurate and slow without a crap load of skill tapes.
Pikeman - the only thing it has going for it is Dots and fun PVE. you also get less defenses. dots are great, if you have access to'em.

I like your template, but instead of getting 4004 tka, I recommend 4301. The reason is that the main benefit from the precision striking tree (XXX4) is defensive acuity, which only works when you're unarmed. So, youpick upX3XX from the balance tree along with meditate and the first tree of precision striking in order to get the best state defenses from tka.
Another good alternative template that's similar is to not pick up any TKA and instead get the techniques tree (XX4X) from pistoleer - the defensive bonuses are the best in the game for the amount of skill points. You'd have 32 skill points left over which might be nice also so that you can pick up 0040 medic in order to use nice stim D's at close to 1k a pop.

okay, here's what you get if you're Master Rifleman, Master Fencer, Trickshot (pistoleer xx4x), and medic 2030 - note: you will have 3 skillpoints left over. mb spend 'em in FS trees.
Defense vs Blind +90
Defense vs Dizzy +90
Defense vs intimidate +20
Defense vs Knockdown +100
Defense vs Posture Change +100
Defense vs Stun +50
Dodge (only useful when fencing) +115
Melee defense +114 (cap is +125)
Ranged Defense +143 (cap is +125)
Ranged and Melee mitigation is +3 (cap)
One-Handed melee toughness (when fencing) +32 <---this directly affects how much dmg you take from melee enemies while you are holding a 1handed weapon
The medic abilities let you heal bleeds on the fly, as well as use stim C's (600-1200 healing, usually around 700-800 average).
the state defenses are second to none except a Fencer/TKA/Pistoleer (you won't have points to master rifleman)
Here is what you get if you are Master Rifleman, TKM, and medic 0140
Defense vs Blind +60
Defense vs DIzzy +55
Defensevs Knockdown +70
Defense vs Posture Change +80
Defense vs stun +65
Melee defense +102
Ranged defense +119
Unarmed Toughness +57 (best toughness in the game - only useful while unarmed)
Unarmed Damage +245
Meditate for bleeds, poison, disease, powerboost, wound healing,etc.
use of Stim D's
slightly faster heal times with x1xx medic
eat KD food to make up for slightly less knockdown defense than the fencer/rifle combo.
TKM gives you better melee offense than fencing due to good AP1 kinetic dmg and a true KD (after you KD, i would probably pull out the jawa rifle and go to town...)
i'm a total masochist for not going TKM (i chose the fencer route) but i rarely am ever dizzied or KD'd, and i never eat KD or dizzy food.
after writing out these numbers, i'm actually pretty tempted to grind out TKM right now...
If you're going to do the Master fencer, master rifleman, TKA template, go TKA 403x - your melee and rifle defense will be capped with just xxx1 of TKA, take the state defenses and meditation instead of melee/ranged defense.

I did all the calculations and this was my template:
master rifle
pistol 0040
fencer 4400
tka 4300
novice medic
as i did the village i traded out novice medic for ranged D, melee D, and ranged accuracy.
this template is damn near disgusting in grouppvp and i never lost a single duel to a melee temploiter.

Master Rifle

Pistoleer 0040 (all the Def vs. of fencer, and you are already capped on ranged and melee def)
Smuggler 0010 (feign)
Medic 2000
Almost max on Melee and Ranged Def, and descent def vs. states. With a dedicated suit of armor for AA's, you should be able to get all the defence tapes you needto get them up. You can also feign, which is the ultimate way to flip someone the bird. Eat dizzy food, and get some knockdown SEA's and you should be good to go.
