Thread: T21 vs Jawa for PvP?

I have been a rifleman since i started SWG 2 or 3 months after release, and have done quite a bit of pvp'n as rifleman with many other different professions. I have found that almost 90% of the time my ranged kills come from my ion rifle. About the only times i have ever used my T21 is when i happen to have bought a really good one - we're talking 40% dmg slice, max dmg around 700 or better (with a p'up). I'm not gonna address the uber T21's I have heard about in the game, such as those with 1900 max dmg and such, because if you have one you probably wouldnt have posted this message .My Ion rifles have always run around 450 or so max dmg with a p'up. P'ups should always be the max/min dmg ones after master, or at least max dmg with mind cost. before master, speed p'ups are the most beneficial. I suppose I am also assuming that you are speed capped either through FS skills or attachments, and if you aren't I suggest you work on that. The T21 especially can be a killer to a rifleman without a speed cap. I have a Tenloss, but I have never used it in pvp, probably mostly because the ion works so well. Every now and then I run across someone that for some reason just doesnt seem to be affected by the ion. In these instances I have used the T21, but usually that didnt work either so I switch to my pikes. Currently I am master rifles/pikes, which to me has been the template that I have had the most fun with. A little melee for backup has suited me very well in the past. Anyhow, I hope this helps.

Nope....35% is the max slice for a weapon

From what I have heard, many PvP Riflemen prefer the Jawa because of the stun damage.

I prefer to use my DXR6, its more accurate the the other rifles. I rarely use my Ion rifle anymore.

I prefer the DX in pvp aswell, because of the accuracy, high dmg and the fact that it isnt affected by PSGs. But, 90% energy/acid composite is still 90% dmg resisted, and I'm pretty sure that is factored in after the AP bonus. If you can get your hands on an around500dmg Jawa, that'll eat through even stun armor pretty well.

I'll assume my opponents are wearing a 40% Stun resist Comp helm like any sane person would do in PvP. Back when I was a stacker Pistoleer with a 40% Stun resist Comp helm, PSG, Synthsteak, and Ranged Mitigation 3, the Ion shots from a Jawa Rifle tended to bounce off my head with little effect whereas the heavy AP T21's would do some major damage. Although my helm was 40% Stun resist, it was only 65% base/energy resist, so maybe this had something to do with the T21 hitting me harder. Based on this previous experience being on the receiving end of a Rifleman, I'm leaning towards the T21. Or should I keep both on hotkey, along with an accurate Tenloss for stackers, and just observe and switch as needed? Any advise from experienced PvP Riflemen would be appreciated.

DXR-6b mainly. High damage, better against mitigation, and +125 accuracy at ideal.

Stun damage doesn't mean sh*t when you can't hit your target.

Depends on how close you are. For close range fights, Jawa. If you are further away DXR-6b. I sometimes will open with T21 just to break their psg, then whip out Jawa and finish them off. DXR-6b is best if you are fighting a stacker from far away.

personally, I used to simply watch it and decide mid-fight, but id start with a jawa. However, with my current jawa(186-613) I can't help but use the jawa always.

If you have a good T-21, hit them with Mindshot2, get the mind bleed DOT. then Switch to your DXR-6B, spamm HS3..nuff said

What he said Ion is good for single pvp but you want to use dxr6 for acid damage. And most pvpers where stun armor go figure.

i first try out my jawa... if that hardly places dents, i switch to T-21... if that one doesn't work either, i either switch to DXR6B or i just take off armour and feign
