Thread: New patch bad for rifleman
Ok, so supressions fire is now worthless to use against animals. Now instead of bleed, bleed , supression fire, headshot, supression etc. It will be bleed, bleed , run and try to kite (gl thxs to the new decrease in accuracy while running), miss a bunch of shotsand then get incapped or slain by anything white or above. How do I stop NPC's that charge and melee now? Oh yea I could dizzy them all using flurry shot 2 and then I could.....oh wait thats right, after the new patch u cant dizzy or stun multiple targets until after they agro you. That wouldn't be too bad if I was sniping from a realistic range, but no, NPCs are pretty much on top of you before you can even get the 2nd shot off.
I have 107 rifle accuracy, yet I miss multiple shots in PVP from 30m out? Lol, and the devs wonder why pistoleers are skyrocketing. They are skyrocketing because pistols are almost as accurate as rilfes from max range and they also fire 3 times faster. So you can afford to miss shots becuase it doesnt really matter you next one is coming up in about 1.5 seconds.
I wouldn't have a problem with any of the above things I ranted about if our max shooting range was increased to something that was realistic. This probably wont happen anytime soon, so i don't really see the advantage in being a rifleman. Your basically a class with all the negatives, and then some , of the other ranged classes(2.5 melee dmg increase, huge ham costs, severe drop in accuracy when close, which is all the time because no one stands at 60 meters away. Nearly every pvp battle I have been in,the majority of fights are within 30ms), but not nearly as many of the positives.
Oh yeah and where is my T21 rifle? I play on the Intrepid server and so far the resources to make the gun have not been available?? The gun is made on other servers , so what gives? Are they paying more money per month than I am? If so fine, if not get on the ball and fix it so I can atleast use a half way decent gun that was supposed to be the most powerful ranged weapon in the game....Until it got nerfed.(See LLC, or flamethrower now for most powerful ranged weapons.)

If it makes you feel better the kd/posture lower/delay timers sure help us out alot in pvp. I have been having a far easier time in pvp dealing with pistol users now.
unfortunately you dont get XP for PVP do you.
whoopie, the timer has evened out PVP, thats nice... now i can still go out and get killed by a momb of kreetles cuz they took away my supreaaion fire. Lucky me.
This sux sooo bad...one of my main shot was suppression...not only does
it not work with animals it doesnt work with NPCs either....I misses about 50%
of the time kiting now...and I'm a sniper....I soooo piss right now
I might quit this dang game...

Is surprise shot essentially conceal shot 2? Was never able to test it out before.
I don't use suppression fire. Pick your targets better. I kill snorbals, spined snakes and perleks on Lok. Snorbals especially give good XP and no suppression fire is needed.
This is hardly the end of the world.
all you whiners need to learn to pick your battles better.
snorbals on lok are the way to go - but no you do not go after a snorbal lair when it is surrounded by red cons. you simply move on to the next lair, look for at least one side with yellows or just clear opwn goodness.
no need for suppression fire or warning shot once you get it down.
gets to the point where you see how many you can kite at a time, you can even kite them and shoot the lair to spawn more. just keep moving.
its nothopefully and rifleman are great after you hit master... well worth your time.

The new patch was terrible for rifleman. I understand that the fixes for KD had to go in to the game for the PvP since they were so imbalancing but it really messed up alot of our specials.
Flurry shot - worthless, it wears off after the mob drops. The time on the ground is minimal, maybe 5 secs of inactivity on the part of the NPC (As soon as they hit the ground they stand back up but thereappears to be aslight firing delay on the mob from what I saw). (A side note to this is that the Doctor's cure dizzy medpack is worthless since the effect doesn't last-just tell anyone who is dizzied to fall over and get back up in a sec). The only reason to use flurry is that it does random damage and can therefore "work" in a group.
Suppression fire - While not a specific rifleman skill, it's commonly used by rifleman to compliment flurry. Has alow chance of working 25%-50% from what I saw last night, they kneel for minimal time (~1 sec). It took 4-5 shots of flurry and suppression fire to get the mob to fall over dizzy and it isn't worth the time with as little as they're on the ground.
I'm a CH so luckily I wasn't hit so hard... but here's something to think about. From what I've read, there's about3 things rifleman can possibly handle while the other classes can waste anything of equal or even higher CL? That is best **edit** example of gimped you'll ever find. Period.
Oh and if you haven't **edit** your pants yet, take a look at LLC. BH is now ultra god. 390-700+ damage 4.2 speed and light armor pierce. I'm not even gonna say the range modifiers on them. Oh, and they don't die in one hit from melee....
