Thread: Master Bounty Hunter has a Jedi Hunting Question

This is for all you warrior Master Riflemen out there. Do you think rifle skills are good for hunting jedi? My instincts say yes because of the awesome mind shots to compliment our eyeshot with the pistol if things get too close.

Devs are dropping the master scout requirement for novice bh - only the exploration tree will be required - so this frees up 42 points to add to our 33 at mbh level. Thinking that Master Rifle would be a nice kill tool for those pesky jedi.

I have no rifle experience beyond master marksman ... so any suggestions or input would be much appreciated.

Being a Master BH myself,I have also looked at this template. It gives excellent ranged defense, which can be pushed up over 100 with the help of a couple of Aukan rings plus extar attachments/skill mods. I also thought about the mind shot thing, but i am continously hearing about them blocking 90+ % of ranged attacks.

Still investigating

I'm hearing the same thing ... jedi blocking ALL ranged attacks .. gonna invest the melee options.

No.

I am MRM / MTKA. I dueled a Jedi on patch day just for fun. He was near completion of his template.

Shooting at least 60 shots at him, only 5 landed. Of those five, none were specials all were auto attacks. The shots that landed averaged 60 damage from a max 437 T21.

As a MTKA (unbuffed and heavily wounded) I managed to take off a good third of his health very quickly. Granted he was not attacking (I would have been destroyed unbuffed and without armour) but states landed frequently, knockdown happened reliably and he had to spend force healing states.

The difference was clear to me. BH without melee skills or a group are screwed.

that's the key there. Master Sabers have insane LS block. lower level jedi will be much easier to hit (exclusive of mundane defenses like fencer/tkm defense stacking).

anyway.. the original premise is right-- melee are much tougher for a jedi to defeat than ranged. I'd go melee.

I am a Master BH on Wanderhome, this is what I'm thinking of doing: Master BH/Carbine and Brawler0-0-0-0, this way I imtimidate em and then stick my posture changes and and Status effects on em.

I am a master rifleman, and I once tried to jump a TEF'd dark force master who was soloing near the DW bunker. I spammed HS3 and landed next to nothing. Block block block block block. What did land did ridiculously low damage.

I read a Dev or Thunderheart post somewhere that talked about jedi and melee. It basically said that melee was intended to be the weakness of jedi (or at least jedi would always be much stronger defending against ranged attacks than melee attacks). I don't remember where I read this, though. But it's my understanding that Teras Kasi was supposedly developed to combat the jedi, am i right?

ranged are worthless against a jedi and to takea strong one you need a big group of melee or he can force run and take them down 1 by 1

b the devs have probably given jedi's force anti desease, sounds stupid butwhy not they given them everything else on a plate

Thunderheart had posted that Teras Kasi were developed to combat jedi. He quickly took back that statement and apologized for the statement and said that they were not intended for that purpose.

As for Teras Kasi, all lore on them points to it as strictly a regular martial art. There is only one reference about them vs. Jedi and that comes from an encyclopedia that is constantlybeing refuted that most people would hesitate to call is a star wars reference guide.

Darth Maul was a Teras Kasi Master. There was a light Jedi Teras Kasi pit fighter mentioned in lore.

Once again though the melee have the advantage. Dont know about you but there was ALOT more shooting in the movies than kung fu fighting yet we riflemen are the only effective ranged prof. vs. melee. well until we get KD/dizzied.
