Thread: Beyond Master Rifleman?
- The Outdoorsman (Big Game Hunter)
- Antarian Ranger (possesses minor force resistances and abilities)
- Combat Ranger (master of guerilla warfare)
Those were just examples of ideas I had for the Ranger profession. Now that you hopefully see where I am going with this idea, I would love to see where you would like theRifleman to go after achieving the title of Master Rifleman. Any and all input is welcome, but please try to keep it constructive.
Indeed How about an actual sniper class.
Long range shooting 100m maybe
Cammoflage
Terrain negotiation

The obvious suggestion that everyone will mention will be long range sniper. How about a fire-support (or covering fire/suppression fire)class that can complement the commandos. Basically they would give cover fire that could delay an enemy attack and allow Commando or Brawler classes to move in closer to a target.
so uh... sorta like caribiener?
perhaps something along the line of special ops... however, id suggest a higher cap on skill points related to pretige classes before implementing this sort of thing... cause most of us wouldnt have the points for it.

I would go along with this idea more, sniper would have the same prerequisites as rifleman accept a new rifle and further shooting bonus.
We can't/won't get more range. We really don't need much more speed just master marksman and buy some mods. We don't need more damage since weapons are going to be added and who knows our future stats. So...what could we use?
State changes are, like my compatriot above me pointed out, a carbineers tact. Maybe we can get blind or something along those lines but not a KD, delay, or any of that stuff.
Terrain negotiation is a scout skill so I don't see the correlation to us
Camoflague is useless right? So why would I want it?
The only thing I could forsee is us getting better accuracy, a new and better conceal shot, and maybe a "rifle butt" attack similiar to pistol whip. Plus special terminals that require us to take out 1 high HAM target unseen, if we get aggro'ed we fail (sniping content)or a large base that is full of people that we have to take out without getting incapacitated (grunt content). I don't see how that would deserve an entirely newprofession offshoot. Maybe a tree ala dabbling in bounty hunter for the other elite branches but I can't think of something deserving of a rifle line in it. Maybe a new Guerilla Warrior profession that requires the same as commando and helps out rifles, commando weapons, and carbines?
commandos to me are folks that use specialized weapons to take out installations, vehicles, and other hardened or protected targets that normal assualt tactics dont work for. they should get things like shaped charges and explosives that damage structures and should be a class oriented towards the GCW. the only weapons taht the comando should keep are the rocket launcher/flamer/grenades their other lines should be replaced with shaped charges/mines/general remote detonated explosives. they shouldnt cross lines with rifle users in that respect. they should also get specialized defenses vs weapon emplacements and vehicle weapons like ATST and ATAT fire.

To all Rifleman, I am collecting info on what type of Prestige Class you would like to see after Master Rifleman. For example...
After achieving Master Ranger you have now opened the paths to:
- The Outdoorsman (Big Game Hunter)
- Antarian Ranger (possesses minor force resistances and abilities)
- Combat Ranger (master of guerilla warfare)

Prestige Classes are a grand concept, however with the current game its just a good theory. Hear me out on this.
With the Current Game Limit of 250 skill points, here is where the problem exsists. Yes you can Spent your 250 skill Points how ever you want. Combat, support, etc.
If they make a Prestige Class Similar to the Jedi System, aka New Character That can't unlearn beyond those mastered classes. With that new Toonis forced down one or 2 paths. But This runs into Issues with Server Loads, 2 characters for 15$ on same server etc.
The Concept is Great where if you for example mastered ranger and Rifleman and it opened up an Antarian Ranger Profession. What is not so easy to explain is what is to stop progression of Power beyond 250 skill points.
The combo's aren't really limited to Rifleman and Ranger either. Sadly I feel the game as we Know it Couldn't possibly Add Prestige Classes, Due To "over powering nature" of some of those Classes. It goes against the Design of the current game, aka the elite will get more elite and the casual will leave because they can't Hang with the Elite of Elites,
With a limit of 250 skill points the casual player still is just as good as the "l33t d00d" , they might not win as much but the Skills are exactly the same. (if same template)
Good Concept.

Yes sort of like carbineer but with greater range and heavier fire power. Maybe take a little bit from commando.

Long range shooting 100m maybe.
100m sniper shot wow thats far ![]()
Just some real life info for all you snipers out there :
July 2002
A world-record killing shot by a Canadian sniper in Afghanistan using a .50 caliber rifle took out a taliban soldier at 2400m and that the american snipers with this guy saw the shot and started giving their rounds to him so he could continue to engage other targets.
Just thought thatthe idea of a 100m sniper shot was funny and also i'm canadian so gotta rub that in a bit too ![]()
