Thread: Which templet should i do?
Before you decide, check out Swordsman as well. Swordsman has AP2 weapons and does mind damage. It is not as defensively oriented as Rifleman, but I love the combo.
Last night, I went out and killed 8 Ancient Bull Rancors (once with two of them on me at the same time) using just Master Swordman/Master Brawler moves. Mind you, I was buffed, but the armor I was wearing was by no means ubber in that I can wear it unbuffed. Even so,I have taken on as many as seven Enraged Rancors simultaneously this way.
Swordsman does good damage, and is great in PvE. So check it out for its offensive compatibility with Rifleman. (E.g., Start out with mind hits with the rifle, and if they survive long enough to get in melee range, switch to Swordsman to finish them off.).

I haven't tried 2-hand swords, but just wanted to also add that it seems like they've added a bunch of special weapons for these guys as well. That Gamorrean battle axe from Jabba's, the Scythe, and some other 2-hand sword that I think I got from the Imperial themepark. Needless to say my guildmate who is a 2-hand swordswoman was happy with me when I gave her all of these weapons.
I think pretty much any brawler profession will go good with Rifleman. TKM is pretty fun, they do pretty massive damage, and the whole meditate line is perhaps the best single line of any profession. Plus I considered it very easy to level up in. I tried some Fencer as well. It was also pretty fun. I never mastered it though so I'm not sure how it compairs to TKM, I think both are probably pretty good. I'm working on Pikeman now, I wanted a challenge ![]()
Plus being a pikeman now reminds me of back in the day when I started going up my very first elite profession(rifleman of course). Whenever I grouped with people, I was always the only rifleman. I pretty much had to pay for most of my skills because I never found any other rifleman around. The leveling was actually tough with bad accuracy and the 2.5x damage modifier. It made you feel like you actually accomplished something when you got that master tag. Now, when I did TKM it was pretty simple I thought(except for the grind to get novice tka, that was pretty tough). Once you hit novice tka it was a breeze.
I love fencer, I believe it is a much better match than tka. Currently I'm doing Master rifle/blade master/tka 4300/medic 2000...I like the Defence and offence of this combo ![]()

Someone told me that with Master Rifleman / Master TKA the range and melee defence are very powerful. It is hard to hit someone with alot of range defence. I am thinking with fencer, can master fencer / master rifleman be as powerful as Master Rifleman / Master TKA?
With master rifle/master fencer I believe you will hit the cap for ranged defense. You might be a little bit under with Master rifle/tkm, but I don't know the exact numbers offhand and it probably won't make too much of a difference if you are under by like 10 or 20. They are harder to hit than just a pure rifleman, but it is not outrageous like it used to be. Also, I'm not sure what kind of difference you will see with between adding fencer or adding tkm (note-this is while holding a rifle. If using the fencing weapon, you'll probably have even better defenses with the dodge mods in effect)
Once publish 7 hit I wanted to check if ranged/melee defense was also capped so I had my guildmate shoot at me (she's a master pistoleer). I had at the time 200 ranged defense and I'd say she hit me around 50-60% of the time, this was with me moving and her using specials. So the defense is still pretty good. Now, before the last publish I'd say she'd hit me around 10%of the time if that.

I currently am a master TKA/Doctor. Its very easy for me to solo 3 Enraged Rancor at the same time.
Sooooo.... i would say TKA is great for solo PvE
