I'm just looking to see what's popular or fun.
I just started Rifleman, planning on maybe dropping TKM. I also started CH but really don't like it...too boring and time consuming.
So if everyone could post their templates so I can get some ideas, that would be great.
Thanks!

For a long time, I had planned on MRM, MCH, and the rest of the points in Scout/Ranger. I really enjoyed CH, but it isn't as useful now as it was when I was leveling up Rifleman. And, as you said, it is very time consuming. I think I will always keep MRM, but I am dropping CH skills as I progress in Ranger.
My current outlook is to master Ranger and begin working on the FS branches. As the SP limit will not allow me to maintain both Master Rifleman, Master Ranger, and allot 24 points to the FS skills, I will hold onto Master Ranger until I need to free up points for FS. Eventually, I'll end up with a template like this:
Master Rifleman
Master Scout
Ranger 4440 (4442)
Marksman 4000 (4003)
24 Blocks of FS skills.
This will leave me with 9 points that I can either use to bump Ranger up to 4442 or Marksman up to 4003. Since I'm going to spend a significant amount of time as a Master Ranger, I will have a good idea at that time whether I want to drop trapping in favor of the +4 Ranged Def and +2 Melee Def the Marksman line would bring.
If I wasn't so interested in unlocking the second character via the FS route, I would choose Master Rifleman, Master Ranger, and probably CH 3-0-0-0.
The template I have chosen is probably pretty poor for PvP, but I am strictly PvE, so here is why I like it:
Rifleman:
Solo almost anything in the game
I don't *need* doc buffs to have fun - the right combination of Chef foods does just fine most of the time.
Don't get hit that often - rarely have to replace armor
If an enemy tries running away, he only dies tired.
Ranger:
Camp kits are nice to heal up wounds in the field - don't have to travel all over the galaxy trying to find a medical facility with non-afk tumbler healing medics.
Terrain negotiation in general is great (from Scout), but the prone negotiation (crawl speed) from Ranger is a wonderful thing to have as a Rifleman.
Harvesting can bring in loads of cash when the right spawns hit.
Tracking beats the heck out of mission terminals for harvesting and is also nice on Dathomir to find those NS/SMG hags.
For FS grinding, you get Scout XP for harvesting and mask scent as well as the weapon/combat XP for killing thus making the FS grind go by a bit quicker.

I am going for master rifle, 4 in marksman pistol, rifle, and support, master scout, a few blocks in ranger, and a few blocks in entertainer. I like ranger for the reasons previously stated. I like pistol because its nice to have a quick short range weapon when people swarm you, andI like having entertainer because you can never find one when you have BF. _ _

Master rifle/brawler/swords novice medic 3 boxes in the melee acc fs tree.
PvE - well yeah...it works
PvP - Use rifle till they get in melee range (if they are melee) then whip out the hammer and continue to bash the mind. If they are ranged...works well too. Plus I can stand up against Jedi with the swords.

I agree with mitaku, RM/swords is a great combo. I added in a smattering of tk (4004) for added defense and meditation/powerboost/force of will, and I had dropped brawler once i had the melee speed FS branch. This combo has great diversity as you can adapt to a variety of situations. e,g, conceal shot an elder until the random bleed ticks, pull out the hammer until she runs, and then switch back to the t21 to snipe her in the back. But it would be nice to have novice medic for the high end mobs and pvp.
tk 4400 was fun too. With knockdown2 in pvp, I would dizzy/kd and then switch to a rifle to double the damage. Often they wouldn't have their stun helm equipped seeing that i'm using a vk, so the jawa would tear through pretty quick. If not, back to swords and see what happens. The possibilities are endless with this template.

Master rifles tk 0304 fencer 0440 pistoleer 0040 novice medic with janta enhanced stims.
Only state i have ever had problems with is stun, I wear enough mods to capp it out, but becuase its not with the skill set it sometimes sticks.
But other than that i can kite and fight without being kd or posture changed.

Well, the most FUN I had with Rifleman is as a Master Rifles/Master Ranger; that's mostly a pve build, though. My other favorite was Rifles/CM, whicha good combo for pve or pvp -- especially group pvp.
Granted, I haven't tried all that much with rifles, so there might be something better;but those are the two I've had the most fun with. OTOH, even thoughI don't likedabbling in two+ elitecombat professions, those Swords/Rifles builds are veryeffective (at least from what I've seen).
But I'm stickin' with the Ranger. ![]()

Master Rifleman, Combat Medic 4/4/0/4, Doctor 3/0/0/0.
It's a fun template that does a pretty good job of keeping both me and my buddies alive
