Well i'm thinking about starting a new server as a rifleman doc and was curious what everyone thinks the best race for rifleman is... i'm leaning towards wookie due to bowcaster but not 100 sure... let me know what ya'll think

Humans havethe mostversatile stat migration options. Every stat has a minimum of 400 and a maximum of 1100. That's why they are generally considered the 'best' choice. Zabraks are good because of high Willpower(not as good as a Human's can be though

) and Zabrak /equilibrium. Mon Cals are good because they can have a Mind pool of up to 1300

Wookiees are not bad either(now that they have armor

) since they have so many stats points(or whatever you want to call them

) to work with.

Honestly, whatever species you want to play as can work out just fine for about any template. Some are better than others at certain things, but until the revamp, most or all weaknesses can be negated.

/agree. Pick the race you want to play. I play a Mon Cal (I started out as a crafter). At 1 point I was a master rifleman/master fencer/ 4-3-0-0 TKA. Then I dropped Fencer for Master Rifleman/TKM, and the whole time I had them I used the melee professions almost exclusively. Race has almost no effect on what you can do with you character, so PLAY WHAT YOU LIKE

I guess that didn't turn out to good. LOL

I'm master rifleman/master sword, human. I would think the weapon you have plays more into the damage done then race. I would say pick which ever you want to play, it will work just as well as any other.

I am a wookiee, and yes, referring to your comment above, it is defintily worth being a wook so you can use the bowcaster, it is one hell of a rifle, and you can use it the moment you log in. It makes those novice levels go soo much quicker. The only downside is, it's much harder to find armor for them, but that's why I went Rifleman/doc

No species really had any Rifleman specific abilities. So it comes down to stats really. Because of that I would say Human would be the prefered choice.

I'm a Wookiee and I've liked it. The lack of armor hurt for a long time but that is been mostly resolved. However if you are taking Wookiee because of the Bowcaster. Be aware of one thing. The Bowcaster really isn't that good. When you start off it will be a good weapon (if you can find one). But once you get the Marksman - Rifles II (should only take an hour or two) the Laser Rifle will far surpass the Bowcaster.

I'm mon calamarian and although themind buff + brandy + vercupti + muon + powerboost (TKA skill) can get my mind to about 6,600 it doesn't make up for the about of abuse i receive or the fact that we cant wear certain clothing / armour. my advice, still to zabrak or human - the other races just aren't worth it.

Human and Mon cals can have absolutely sick stats when fully buffed (good doc buffs, entertainer mind/focus/will buffs, TK powerboost and even Vercupti buffs) but that may change when the doctor buff changes go into effect then Wookiees and Zabraks may be better. Wookiees right now probably has the best all-round stats for everything, and they're worth having now with the new armor.

BTW, that comment about mon cals being limited to certain clothes/armor, the only armor I've not been able to equip so far is the Chitin gloves otherwise everything else fits on. And for the Bowcaster, I have a gulidmate with a 880+ dmg bowcaster and I have a 295 dot mind poison bowcaster but I don't have a wookiee toon.

mon cal all the way

i love my 1300 mind and maxed secondaries. think what a dancer buff does . 2600 mind BEFORE brandey, and the emergancy muon or vercupti....

If theres no species that you wanna play for rp reasons then:

1. Human Best stats

2. Zabrack Equilibrium

Worst:

1. Twi lek worst stats

2. Trandoshians: armor holes

PS bowcaster is an awful weapon (0ap)

Why not a Twi'lek? I'm over halfway through Rifleman and I've never had a problem.
