Thread: Example of how slow mastering is

I went hunting on dathimor today. I was out there for about 4 hours total and only got about 60k xp. I was killing things left and right. Bagged me tons o rancors and mites and spiders. And like I said I only got 60 to 70k xp.

How the **edit** do people say they masterd rifleman in a week or less. I have read that more than a few times and it makes me sick. I have been leveling rifleman since I started the game and am only 2/2/2/1 I know ppl say lvl conceal shot first but to tell the truth it is useless to me. seems like a very slow shot. I want to kill more tham one animal an hour.

Easy they already mastered another profession and have 400K combat XP laying around.

Starting rifleman as a 0-0-0-3 rifleman is easy.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

Sosus, ill tell you one trick...

look, first thing is speed, so get powerups and slices.

second thing is buffs, brandy is a must

third, Dath is a bad choice, to way powerful mobs and low xp reward, change to dantooine.

Get a pet, a lot of pet stimps andgroup with it.

Invest all the points you have in countersniping until you get flushing shot 2. (AE attack that raises posture. HUGE x4 damage multiplier).

Find a quenker lair, hurtoon lair or piket lair. Avoid voritors.

Send your pet to attack the lair (at this point i would say that being a CH helps, cos you can get more resistant pets). Note that the pet is a 100% tank. He is there to make aggro all mobs and receive damg. (Kinetic resistance is great for this).

then, select one of the mobs surrounding your pet, spam flushingshot 2 until all are dead. With a speed laser rifle i have 80-440 3,9 secs and a dmg powerup i kill all the mobs in 10 secs.

So, this is how it works, you send the pet to attack the lair, so that makes all the mobs aggro the pet and even more mobs appear because of the tapping in the lair. As you are attacking with an AE, you kill them all at the same time. Cycle through targets to distribute the dmg evenly during the firing.

This means, 6 quenkers giving 3,4k xp each and another 4k for the lair, an awesome 25k xp per 10 secs. lets say 1 minute to take a good position. The reward is more or less 6k credits per mission plus resources and some CH xp also. The only cons are the pet stimms you have to spend and the possibility of having one of the mobs attacking you.

Yesterday i made the first two boxes of accuracy in two hours.

TIPS:

+get a cat, they run a lot and can follow you in a speederbike.

+find "Mob Squares"... places where you can see 4 lairs at the same timein your radar. Maskscent, enter in the centre of all of them and destroy the lairs without moving yourself from the point where you are.

+Get novice CH, that gives you the possibility to have more that one pet in your datapad and you can change pets from lair to lair to spend less stimpacks.

+Look at your spam damage. If you are doing, in average, 1000dmg, you cant kill things with more that 4k HAMs, cos they will kill your pet before you finish them. If you make 2000dmg, you can kill mobs up to 8k ham, and so on.

there are more tips, but ill let you find them

and allways remember, until master, speed is the main attribute of a gun,

Okay I'm not the fastest to master stuff but I'm decent. I mastered Rifleman in 8 days of grind. I ran Pickett missions on Dantooine only. I did this in January (pre-chef patch so food will be different). I used a crate of high bonus corellian fried ice cream. I would rotate to find the most separate pickett first, go prone at 60-64 meters, then use a Aim/Mindshot1/Aim/Mindshot2 macro(w/ a good T21 [sliced and powerup 33max/16min]), peace. If I missed MS1 then I hit it again and peaced or if I missed MS2 I hit my MS2 on my toolbar then peaced. Okay so dual mind bleeds on one pickett now. The pickett agros, as soon as the 1st bleed kicks in, without the others doing so just about 98% of the time if I did it right. Switch to the spraystick (slices, powerups, and quality don't matter for this in my method), go to kneeling, warningshot the animal until it runs, peace. Switch to the next pickett and repeat. Get all 3 picketts bleeding and backed off this way. Shoot down the one w/ lowest mind now and take them all down. Shoot lair once. Repeat above method. Shoot lair to right above 38,000 health, peace, shoot it slowly down - shot then pause - until a pickett emerges (the exact 3rd wave health is variable depending on the lair's origional health [noted variance of 52-62k health]). Note that the lair must be shot down to the 3rd wave level exactly so or you can get 1-3 angry picketts on you w/o having set them up - which means Incapacitation usually. Shoot the 3rd round of picketts. Finish the lair off. Of course have scouting ability and harvest for some tent material when needed and whatever is best OQ stuff to sell on market. Now this method will have to be adapted for each person and certain aspects will have to be practiced to get right.

Hopefully this helps.

I forgot this. Get any old non-CH pet. Group it and leave it at the mission terminal for the 25% group XP bonus.

Sorry Axle, but no more bleeds... they dont stack and the damage they do is very low now... they got nerfed!

Now, to get the countersniping 3 box you have to do two things:

1: group hunting- slow cos you dont do as much damage as others.

2: concealshot-100% of my xp till CounterSniping 3 were from concealshot mobs till death. No more tricks, just speed and concealshot. No aiming, no accuracy, no nothing. I went 0.1.0.x to 0.1.3.x.

next step is accuracy, no doubt.

this workd for me...

Get a Master Doc to buff your pet's stamina and constitution so that they have a faster regeneration rate and to save pet stim's.

And yes there's a group benefit to gathering xp points... so the hint about leaving a pet safe in town is a good one (that unfortunately i always seem to forget to do).

I've tried leveling off huurtons and other aggro critters on Dant. They attack me the instant I'm in rifle range. My only XP on Dant is Pickets, and frankly, I can get similar XP off Bolles or Faamba on my home planet of Naboo. I use concealshot to level mostly, and When it works, I can get 100K XP in a day of play. I been doing rifles for about 3 weeks, and I'm 4-1-1-3. And this is with no pets. Just me, a few crates of Muon, and a lot of getting chewed on cause concealshot failed.
