Thread: what mob drops looted rifles

Rifles drop from a variety of targets:
- Tuskens - Tusken rifles
- Jawas - Jawa rifles (haven't seen one drop from a jawa since the first couple months of the game)
- Nightsisters - occasionally drop a laser or T21, almost always a very nice rifle if it drops off a sister (have heard but not seen jawas also)
- Jedi knights and masters - NPC jedis on Dantooine and Dathomir drop rifles of many different varieties - have seen T21s, jawas, lasers, and SG82s
- Crazed genosians drop DXR6's at a pretty high rate - if you kill enough you may get a very decent drop
- Krayts - Krayts occasionally swallow rifles, almost always T21's and almost always exceptional or legendary
Probably more, but that's a starter list.

Bah, over 2500 Elder kills and not a single decent rifle so far, just to give you an idea on rarity. As far as dark jedi on dant... well, last two I killed dropped a red crystal, and 1400 credits. Wasn't exactly impressed there, but, if they got the chance of droppin them, might as well continue killin them.

ever do a forum search first? the first three pages have 9 threads on this. ^_^ basically if it is high level it can drop a high level rifle. Rarity is pretty extreme though so it is easier to buy them from your trade forums generally.

tuskan kings will drop high end dot rifles and check the vette, i have seen some very nice weapons... 1100 damage 400mind fire bowcaster, funny it was looted by a wookiee

Yeah, I have noticed both some nice attachments and weapons have dropped there. Too bad it's not too often people go there on my server anymore, and when I do solo runs, I don't get too far before a 42k condition set of armor is decayed to worthless. But, before I get too far off topic, yes, there do seem to be some decent -albeit not legendary/exceptional- loots to be had there, from what I've experienced.

To find high quality weapons:
Looking in the rifleman profession forum is not the place to look for weapons. The best place to find weapons that you like is in your individual galaxy trade forums. In there you can find master weaponsmiths advertising their crafted weapons and also looted weapons by people who looted them in your galaxy.
For looting your own weapons NS, krayts and Rancors most often drop the exceptional and legendary weapons that we so lust after. If you desire to loot your own you will be doing an amazing amount of hunting - say 1 in 1000 will actually drop something that you might be able to use and even then it is more likely just slightly better then normal.
for buying looted legendary weapons - expect to pay up to 100 million for the more populated servers and as low as 10-15 million on the lighter servers
for buying exceptional weapons - expect to pay 1/2 as much as legendary (and they will be very nearly as good)
look for weapons with -1 uses for DOT's if you do buy them as they have unlimited use of the DOT.
currently Mind Fire and Mind Poison and Disease are the most sought after, after the combat balance this may change so look for high potency high strength and that -1 usage more then mind targeted damage.

It has1 sentence that only partially answers his question, "For looting your own weapons NS, krayts and Rancors most often drop the exceptional and legendary weapons that we so lust after."The trade forum isalso recommend, but that is not a viable option for many and he may be looking for tusken rifles, SG82's, or other unmentioned rifles. There is somevery helpful information as to what to look for in looted weapons, but that is not his question. Instead of constantly referring folks to the FAQ, maybe directly quoting the pertinent section of the very long and somewhat difficult to search FAQ would be more in order? Also, we're a community and new and fresh ideas above and beyond just 1 source are often the goal of new posters who are immediately pushed towards FAQ's that they may have already read. ^ ^

. I said that it is in at leastafew threads already in the first few pages of the forum.

i looted a nicemind poison rifle when on the corvette(rebel destroy). Along with mindpoison carbine, actionpoison rifle, lowmindpoison pistol.
so the corvette seemed like a nice place to loot... just don't attract those SBD's... (even though our group did take about 4 of em down...) waste of time, since they don't give loots.
and u can get the schematic/parts for the berserker rifle up there...

The Rifle FAQ and Newbie FAQ are stickied for a reason. It's so that many of the common questions are answered and so the same question doesn't show up here on a weekly basis.
Those two posts will answer a fair number of the questions that get asked here and what they are there for. They should be your first stop on asking most questions here.

I have discovered that the Sith who attack the Village in Phase 4 drop some nice ( not exceptional but nice ) weapons. I've gotten 3 DoT spraysticks,1 DoT Laser Rifle and 2 DoT Laser Carbines. I also picked up several DoT Vibro Lances and a little Mind Poison Power5 pistol.
After completing the original mission in Phase 4 I enjoy just going to Loot weapons.

Don't forget that Meatlumps drop CDEF Rifles!
But seriously, NS definatly drop and not just Elders. I have looted above average weapons from spellweavers and sentinals.
