Thread: Five of the most common Rifleman Questions, with answers!
Here's some questions I usually get peppered with, hope these answers can help abit!
Where should I grind rifle, what is the absolute, fastest powerlevel job I can do?
~I have heard of two really great methods to grinding our Rifles. They share some commonalities though, so let's get them out of the way first.Start with a cheap weapon off the bazaar, whatever you are certified for at the specified level , kill small creatures outside cities until at Rifles III, where you get the Laser Rifle. Go buy five of them, get them all sliced, and equip the best Speed slice. I suggest Quenkers for the early going until at least Novice.Pull two missions (Around 5-6k in the MO, killeverything outside the first lair with Pointblankarea1, shoot the lair once, peace. Wait for the new defenders to spawn, kill all of them in the same manner. Now head to the second lair, use the same method. Travel between the two lairs until you've capped xp, go back to the MO, train, and head back out, until you have gotten enough xp for Novice. Here's where the split is. Some people enjoyfinishign the grind on Quenkers, I find this incrediblyboring. The other method is the Sennex Cave6522,-1350 onTatooine. It's full ofLookouts (About 1200 xp), Warders (about 2100 xp),Slavers (About 2800 xp), Guards (About 3500 xp), Hunters (about 3500 xp), and the Slavemaster (About 4500 xp). The Cave is ona good spawn rate, and the bad guys are easy to kill ifyou handle them one or two at a time with some judicious sniping. At this point, try and grin up to Counter-Sniping III, while training Special Abilities as you go. This will certify you for the DXR-6b Rifle, which has excellent accuracy mods (Far better than the T21), AND you get Flushing Shot2, which is a great Area Attack, so you can handle those clumps of Sennex much quicker!. At this point, go for the Accuracy line, and once thatis complete, dothe rest however you please, it matters not. At Master, find yourself a +7 Rifle Speed tape to cap, and you're done!
What is the best Rifle?
It truly depends on the situation, I'll outline them just below.
PvE
For the vast majority of PvE, if not all of it, use the T21. It does Energy damage, which is great against Elders and th elike (though be VERY aware of Stalkers, Sentinels, Spell-Weavers, and Protetcors, thereis no rifle we currently have that can hurt them!). The T21 is Heavy AP which means it will trump anything's armor, and lose no damage because of an armor rating, and, the T21 can get fairly high in damage!
A word about Krayt T21's. Waste. Even though sets of 11 are more and more common these days, they're still usualyl in the base range, and their effects are negligible at best since a slice on one T21 is not guaranteed. Instead, go buy 5 T21's. Get them sliced, you should get one 30% or better, and out of ten T21's you're damn near guaranteed a 35% damage slice. At 7k-15k a piece, I think you can splurge on 5-10 rather than paying 500k+ for a Krayt one
. If you get 11 tissues, make two Dxr's or Jawas, I prefer Dxr's as I'll outline below, but a Dxr with base tissueas and near base cubes can still get near 700 damage with a great slice.
PvP
It seems as if every Rifleman loves to talk about his Jawa. Let him send you tells after you're pointing the barrel of your Dxr down at his incapacitated body. In the era of Anti-Decay 60% PSG's, the way to go is Acid, and the way of the Dxr. Dxr's have incredible accuracy mods for stackers, great Min to Max damage ratio to cut down on the effects of mitigation, Medium AP, and a very high overall damage, on good ones, higher than great T21's. A good Dxr will have a max damage over 650, a very good one, over 700, and an incredible one over 850, and I've seen them as high as 1200. I cut through people like butter with mine, (754 max) on average hitting an armored person for 250-ish with Headshot3, and for a jedi, well....
Jedi
For Jedi, I recommend the same, the trusty Dxr. Contrary to popular belief, AP doesn't matter against a Jedi. Becaus ethe do not wear armor, the don't have an armor rating, and therefore the armor rating system does not for on them. It sounds screwy, and it is, but it's true. In this case, go with a wepon that has the highest Max damage, since you need every shot that gets throught saberblock to count. take into secondary considerations the Min/Max ratio sinc ethe further aprt it is, the wider the range of damage is, and theaccuracy, you DO NOT want to miss your golden oppurtunities
.
What foods should I use?-Note, ALWAYS be Mind buffed ![]()
PvE
I usually enjoy two shots of Brandy, one Ahrisa, you need to hit 1500ocus for your specials not to drain your mind. Save the other two spots for when you get into trouble, such as Synth for when you hit a real emergency, and/or Thakatillo for when a Nightsister closes range in the event you screw up. You get Knocked down, you=dead.
PvP
As above, use two shots brandy, one Ahrisa, but add in Vagnerian Canpes in the food rotation. If you get chased by a stacker, use Thak, usually though, you should be okay, the Canape will boost regeneration in an emergency, say when fighting another Rifleman, that little difference can buy you a few extra seconds to pop off that last finishing shot. Synth that lasts for 35 shots will last you 35 seconds of invulnerability, so kill him quick if he can outdamage you.
Jedi
Here's where it gets tricky. Always use Thak, you get knockdown, you're dead, except faster. much faster. You have no resists to him, unless you have a nice Anti-Decay PSG, so use Synth.
What equipment should I use?
PvE
80%+ BaseComposite in case you run into an Elder with a Stun Baton or Scythe, obviously ![]()
PvP
Start with 85%+ Base Composite with a good Stun layer. Tack on a Freshly uncrated PSG, or Anti-Decay PSG, your Rifleman SEA suit, and you're set.
Jedi
HAWTPANTS
What Specials should I use?
PvE
Start by tacking on your bleeds with the Mindshots, then resort to the good ole Headshot for Elders. For Krayts, Strafe em, much better DPS. Someone pointed out about these attacks for being in gorups or not. My answer is, I wouldn't advise trying to solo any Krayts above Juvvy unless you've got 85% Base Comp, and most importantly Intimidate, they will just hit too hard. I fully intend on adding a PvE What to Kill list and how later, so... I'll leave that question open-ended for now ![]()
PvP
-Stackers
I always start with FlushingShot2, to apply some states to them, make them easier to hit, then switch to either a). If they aren't wearing arm armor, Strafe, or b). If they are, Headhshot.
-Jedi
You want to reach Point Zero with your Jedi enemy, the point at which he is out of Force Points, and is absolutely screwed. To get there, start with Strafe, it hits the hardest, and splashes across random pools, making him use HealAllSelf2, which costs more force than HealMind2. I've one-shotted Knights with Strafe, no kidding.
-Everyone else
Cut the crap and Headshot the bastages
.
That's all for tonight, I'm a bit tired, I'll add more later!

I was thinking of a section on what to hunt for cash and how, perhaps a template assessment...
Any other ideas?

In terms of specials used. I can only assume you are talking about specials if you are in a group? Using strafe special on Krats when solo you are dead right? Also if you are solo hunting and stack some bleeds on mobs you might aggro mobs around your target and have to fight 3 mobs off of you. So if you could go into more detail about whether you are talking about group or solo and any tips about solo/group fighting would help as well. Good job on the guide.
I'll definitely fix the ambiguity on that part

Elders are easy, because you can kite them effectively
Have they fixed this, all the Nightsister I have hunted can run me down while I'm kiting...or is there a way to kite Edlers that doesn't apply to regular NS?
Ye sindeed there is. If you can stay roughly 54m away from them, they will begin to walk, at which point keep kiting and you can kill them without them ever getting a shot on ya! Keep up the examine window though to make sur ethey are walking.

Very nice post. Makes me want to consider Rifleman.
I really hope things like this thread do not entice people to join anyprofession - you should join for fun not for other reasons. People have alts and play professions for lots of other purposes then fun - while the only goal of a game is to have fun. Play for fun or don't play at all is my motto. The day I stop having fun here is the day I quit the game
umm... i think your estimates might be a little off. "damn near guaranteed a 35% damage slice" in 10 slices is pretty optomistic. If you've gotten those results, then you've been fortunate. You'll get a good slice, probably a 30+ damage slice, but don't get angry if you don't get the mystical 35%.
