Wondering if they help get into a Covered state easier, or maybe help maintain it longer.

No, camo kits will not help with the Rifleman's cover skill. The camo kit is designed to help keep creatures from spotting you so that you can move past reb mobs with drawing agro. While these do seem like similar operations, the mechanism is different.

Does anybody know what vendor search category includes camo kits? I have yet to find one on my server, but wonder if I have just been checking the wrong categories. I don't see them specifically listed by name anywhere.

should be a misc/general item
Yeah, I tried there and didn't see any. Maybe there are just none for sale yet on my server, or maybe there is no vendor category for them at all yet.

I found them. They are under Misc-->Item (not Generic Item). Apparently these things are planet-specific, so if you want to be camouflaged on Dantooine, you have to buy a Dantooine camo kit. At least that's how it looked to me on the vendor. I'm not sure I want to carry around separate kits for every single planet in my already-full inventory.

Yes, camo is planet specific. If you want to protect yourself on Dathomir, you need Dathomir camo. If you tend to travel from planet to planet a lot, you'll find yourself carrying a lot of packets with you. Luckily, this rifleman happens to be a ranger as well.

They only protect against the different creatures from mobbing you right?

Ah, that answers the question I was about to post--as to how these kits supplement Mask Scent. If they work against different kinds of mobs, then maybe it would indeed be worth carrying around all the kits, at least for my CL 7 artisan alt when he's out moving harvesters! How would you guys compare the effectiveness of these kits with Mask Scent, versus their respective targets? Mask Scent breaks annoyingly often on Dathomir--so often that I usually don't even bother to use it if I am driving cross-country (like to the Village).

About the same as mask scent... Breaks when you least want it to and other times never seems to break.
