Yesterday was my first venture into the Genosian Cave. What a blast, I was lmao!!! I was with 8 buffed guildies. I thought we should have no problem ripping our way through the cave...Man was I wrong! I figured that I could just sit back and do some target practice with our one other 4/1/2/4 Rifleman and learn some moves. We got in there and I couldnt figure out what the hell was goin onat first. There was red stuff running everywhere! I realized that without a t-21 or a dxr- 6 I wasnt gonna do much, so I was spamming the flurry shot on the oversized knats so that our melee guys could knock them down. The hardest part was when we would run into the Kwi. It would take us a while to knock them out and it would never fail that a Droideka spawn would come and they always seemed to aggro us rifleman in the back. I was getting my head kicked in and would have probably been dbed early accept our other rifleman guildy saved my ass numerous times.

In fact, I noticed that we wer'nt doin so hot until he got that t-21 rollin. My laser and jawa were pretty much ineffective. It was like throwing a pie against a brick wall.

It is really fun being a rifleman because you can see alot more of the battle in front of you. I also noticed that riflmen/women also dont get alot of respect as our other riflman was constantly pulling us out of stuff and laying cover fire while the other guildies were talking to npcs to get the codes without a problem. I mean this guy was tradeingfire with a droideka so that the rest of our guildies could beat on the kwi, but I dont think anyone even noticed!

What server are you on? (You should change your profile so it says) I've never been there before, but I wouldn't mind wading in with some fellow death-dealers!

Sorry, got it dialed in now.

I am on Naritus which I think is about the least populated server. I rarely see Naritus people on the boards.

LOL about the same as my experience the first time I went to the cave . I figured since I am a TKM that I could deal with what ever got close & my rifleman skills would handle them at a distance . ROFL I was killed in about 8minutes and I9 need to get my rifle skills a lot higher as I am only 1x13 in the rifleman profession which doesn't cut it against what is in those caves .

Some day soon though I will slaughter the Genosians

First time I went to the cave I left after about a half hour of playing there with my guildies. First off the place was super heavily camped. Either guys stayed at the door and camped or I could see others had wormed their way to the bottom and was camping the boss or whatever was down there. For me I just didnt feel I could fight anything well. At the time I was 3-1-2-1 and felt I should have been beating on those big bugs with the butt end of my rifle rather than shooting at it for all the damage I was doing.

Tho, I did talk to one Master Rifleman since and he said once you get Master its alot different.

I went there ones with my guild and we soon realised that is was to hard for us. We then teamed up with another guild and started working downwards.

Still we had problems and it was very slow. At this time I was at about 1,1,2,2 in rifleman...

As we moved on we saw a person coming down on his own... we all were sure that he would soon be down. But we discovered his title and it said Master Sharpshooter, he easily took out the Droidekas that we struggled with(even though we were a large group) and he ran past us... a few minutes later all our buffs had ran out and we had no chance at completing the cave. I'm just wondering how far that rifleman got.

The lab is cool, but really isn't hard until you get the last few spawns where a rifleman would be more useful because some of the stuff is just extremely armoured with high resist.
It takes melee types awhile to kill some of the stuff, like force klikniks.

The boss is on a slow slow reset, 2 hours maybe. so People will wait arround to try to kill it. But other stuff in the room resets fast so it can be hard to wait around.

Well i have visited the caves a few times. I mainly have to go when the server is least populated as i only run on a 56K dial up........*starts crying over his keyboard*.

When i was only a novice/sniper rifleman the going at the caves was extremly difficult. most offten gettin Db'd in the first 5 minutes.

But now i am a Master i can see that the beasties there shouldn't pose to much of a problem if i go fully buffed with some quality Composite.

Having a DRX-6 is a must also as most things there have low resists to acid damage. Also When your Master rifleman, strafShot 2 is a gift from the gods with my 506max damg laser rifle i can dish out a whopping 3500+ hit points of damage per shot, spam that and you shoot at a 1 second fire rate....total awsome.

I can't wait to get back there . I mostly go solo to avoid the ninja looters that turn up. and as i said....the lagg from all the campers there is terrible for us poor dial up users.

Now if only every one would store there vehicles when they get there, that would not only cut out the lag, but also save there nice swoop from getting aggroed.

no need for them to be left out now the 15 second delay is live.

Oh yeah while I was there, I invented a new combat move. I call it the trampoline door warp trick. You exersize this manueverwhen three cave spiders and a force kilnik are on your ass chaseing you down the corridor. Run through the nearest coded door which will let you half way into the room before it bounces you about 100m in the other direction! It saved me from geting cloned for sure!

The Geo caves definitely require a little strategy to be successfull (you can't just go in with your T21 and buffs and comp since they nerfed stacking and the mobs will stun you). First almost everything has really high resists, you really need to know what gun you have will be most effective. TKM's have a hard time with the Kwi's because they have really high resists to Kinetic and can't be kd/dizzy (just KD), but rifleman with a Disruptor rifle are pretty good against the Kwi's. The acid rifle is also very good agains the geonosians as well (also, the geonosians can be kd/dizzied). The T21 is strong against the droidekas and cave spiders.

Word of warning, area attacks are strong, but cause you to get aggro'd by a lot more than you want most of the time. Of course being a rifleman always be aware of your mind pool, but the two times I went with buffed/comp armor wearing guildies of other professions, they always had mind problems as well. The reason being without super mind buffs any move is going to drain mind (especially in comp) and the Kwi's and some of the other mobs have such high resists and HAM's (i think the Kwi is 30k) that it takes a lot of hits to take them down.

I did this as a master swordsman with another master swordsman it was fun both bashing stuff with blast hammers but we had to wait ages for acklay to spawn and my buffs ran out mid fight we still pulled it off though. Its probably easier to do the caves with smaller groups so you can communicate and work together well.

I think a master swordsman and a rifleman duo would work well, but you'd need some acid dam.

Welll since most of them are week to acid and STUN, i think you underestimate the dmg of the jawa... I hunt there all the time... not for exp but for loot... and I have np smoking packs of them with a jawa... and yes... many rifleman/woman are over looked.. but the good ones... Everyone knows who they aer and pvping or hunting.... everyone wnats them with them!
