Thread: Nerf Rifleman!

Obviously SOE thinks we riflemen are just fine.... maybe too fine. So here are some ideas for SOE that probably have more of a chance of getting implemented than the fixes that we really need....



  • At Master Rifleman level, we should have to wear a hat with a flashing light and a siren, along with a flashing neon light on our Ghuille Suitthat says "I am a rifleman... shoot me".

  • Since they are obviously barely holding their own with us, Pistoleers and Bounty Hunters should get a new "KillRifleman" shot at some higher level, say....Novice?

  • Make camoflage bright orange.

  • Obviously the T21 is a large, heavy weapon and lugging it around shouldn't be so easy. Fix the T21 so that as we walk or run with it our Strength plummets.

  • It is way too easy to find resources for our top weapons. Why, they've even shown up on some of the servers. Make it so that you have to consume a new spice (lets call it "Urskrewd") in order to even detect the presence of the materials. Of course, this spice will only be available at random times on some servers.

  • Our Mindshots are way too powerful in PvE. Give animals larger than a krevol a new characteristicnamed "Motrin"that diminishes the effect.

  • Make it so that Rifleman have to go buy a "Hunting License" to bag animals. (This is different than having the certification to use a particular gun). Additionally, only pistoleers and bounty hunters can sell these licenses.

  • Aside from "kneel", "prone", and "stand", we need a new position..... "bend over".

Indeed, many valid suggestions listed here. Now, if you need me, I'm now off to go get my Pistol andCH experience buffed up so that I can get my hands on a dual pistol weilding Rancor, as both God and SOE intended.


Thank goodness I have all those extra skill points I don't have to spend on the Rifleman tree, seeing as over 50% of our skills and attributes are garbage...

your thick and heavy sarcasm humors me. i've been quite pissed since the patch came out (even more so than before cuz at least before i could say "lets hope for the best in the new BIG patch") but you post has humored me and made my work day a bit lighter, thank you. now if these **edit** customers would just stop being stupid...

OMG, this post is hilarious! Rifles also should be limited to a range of 32m max! I mean be reasonable.... right now we can hit things from as far away as a pistol....


And please ensure that in the next patch the encumberance of carrying around a rifle in h2h combat, make's it near impossible to even execute a move that would do more than 50 dmg, and upgrade the damage we would take from 300% to 600%. I don't even remember the last time someone had a chance against me once they got in h2h range....

It's a **edit** shame when your correspondent is at the bar with us buying rounds.....but then again they are just letting him hang out to dry. AA you've worked hard man, they just don't give a **edit**

We can't forget PvP either. Since mind damage cannot be healed when we shoot a player with Headshot/Mindshot they should now get an attack menu something like the group menu that reads something like:



Headshot.


Yes?


No?

That's the funniest post I've read in a long time. I think the commandos will be asking to share our new 'bend over' position.

All i can say is i concur.


It seems we are destined to be the laughing stock of the ranged skills. Yet here we are in the hope that we will be improved.


Something else, i dont mean to jack the topic but something that gets on my nerves a hell of alot. Actually i have alot to say on this so gonna start a new trhead

Yes. We are way to powerful. At master rifleman i actually almost killed a pistoleer/smuggler. He was almost dead, until he spammedknockdown. I soon found that everytime hedid it, itadded 15 second of time I couldnt attack. If i can almost kill something then this profession is to Uber.

Yeah that happened to me, I got knocked down, got up and I couldnt shoot, heal myself nothing. I was pissed, its so fun sitting there watching yourself die.

Grr... why don't they put a timer on knockdowns?! This target can not be knocked down for 30 more seconds.

They should also put a warning that lets others know when we are about to come out of incap. That way they can attack and kill us easily without the fuss of unnecessary combat.
