Well, i still stand behind my suggestions. Even if they don't change the speed cap. The Laser Rifle shouldn't be the only medium AP Rifle and the T21 shouldn't be the only heavy AP Rifle. There needs to be more variety in choices for the Rifleman other than damage type.

Acutally, 2 ideas. This is an idea if the Devs ever decide to change the speed cap of Rifles to 3.0. To balance out the 3.0 speed cap and still retain damage.

Idea 1 = Increase in Armor Piercing:

Rifles should more Armor Piercing than they already do. This change would be in balance if the speed cap was changed to 3.0. It would also give more variety in choices other than T21 and Jawa Ion Rifle.

CDEF Rifle - unchanged

DLT20 - unchanged

DLT20a - unchanged

Tusken Rifle - AP light

Laser Rifle - unchanged

SG82 Rifle - AP medium

Spraystick - unchanged

E11 Rifle - AP light

Jawa Ion Rifle - unchanged

T21 - unchanged

DXR-6b - AP Heavy (this weapon is higher in the Rifleman skill tree than the T21, therefore it should be Heavy AP)

Idea 2 = changing placement of certifications in Marksman:

Why is the E11 Rifle in Rifle Skill 4? Why is the Laser Rifle in Rifle Skill 2? The faster Rifles should be in lower skill boxes to help ease the long delay on rifle shots. Why put a medium AP rifle in Rifle Skill 2? After you get that box, no need to get any other rifle until Novice Rifleman. It almost makes the other rifles obsolete (except Jawa Ion Rifle for PvP). Also, in conjunction with the increase in AP for the SG82 Rifle, i moved it to Rifle Skill 4. So, you can choose which damage to pick from without sacrificing AP.

Novice Marksman

DLT20

Rifle Skill I

Spraystick

DLT20a

Rifle Skill 2

Tusken Rifle

E11 Rifle

Rifle Skill 3

Jawa Ion Rifle

Rifle Skill4

Laser Rifle

SG82 Rifle

I hear a lot of nerf criers saying that the devs are going to change the speed cap to 3.0 but has anyone actually heard this from an actual dev? I would believe it if someone credible said this instead of a bunch of whiney babies spreading rumors.

wow, thanks for NOT reading the entire post and just the first sentence. If you see the changes i suggestted, it would BOOST rifles, not nerf. Next time, try reading the entire post before replying. I didn't say the Devs were going to change the speed cap, i said if they were, Rifleman should be compensated.

I read the whole post. I didn't say it was a bad idea.I jsut didn't refer to your changes when I replied. It's just that I got sick of seeing the whole nerf to 3.0 speed cap from everyone who isn't a rifleman. True, these changes would almost be needed if they changed our speed cap. I was just asking if anyone has actually heard from a creditible source on this.

Marksman cert order doesn't really matter because you can grind it all in a couple hours. An ideal cert reorder would spread the weapons out across both marksman and rifleman instead of having nearly everything in marksman and novice rifleman.

How about moving the T-21 to Master Rifleman? (How often do you see Riflemen using anything 'besides' that? (Jawa Ion in PvP is the only oddball here)

That at least tends to make sense given the power behind the gun, only a master rifleman ought ot be able to use it properly.

This came from the Devs long ago. Back when they first talked about doing a combat revamp they mentioned changing weapon speeds to 1.0 for pistols, 2.0 for carbines, and 3.0 for rifles. It was used as an example and was just a suggestion.

But since then people have taken it as fact. As far as I know the Devs haven't said this would be so. They just made a suggestion and gave a possible example and people ran with it.

Thank you for letting me know where this rumor started and confirming that it is still just a rumor.

No. You want to leave something in the Novice box. It give the new Rifleman something to look forward to using. Plus all the combat professions have a weapon in the Novice box.

They are adding new weapons all the time. They probably will eventually add a Master level weapon. The Pistoleers are getting one when the Deathwatch Bunker comes out. The DE10 is a Master level pistol. Energy, AP1. It looks rather good too. Looks like a high tech long barreled revolover. Perfect for the gunslinger image.

We've already had two weapons added. Some professions haven't had any yet. They are releasing a couple each publish so it will cycle back to us eventually and you can pretty much guarantee that there will be a Master level rifle.

DE10 Pistol

Woooooooo! I did hear about the DE-10, but didn't know it was certed at Master Pistoleer. How is it compared to other pistols? I've been anxious for our own Master rifle since TH mentioned this idea a while ago. Hmmm, maybe it won't even be a Master T-21, but something better?
