Thread: so now that conceal shot works?
I almost have enough to learn one of the first skill boxes so should i get conceal or sniping?
Sniping Iwill give you MindShot2. Concealment gives you Concealshot. The answer as to which is better really depends on your style of play. Mindshot2 will stack with Mindshot1 allowing you to do good sized double mind bleeds. In combination with Headshot2, you can take down creatures by targeting their mind. On the other hand, it may takea while, but you can solo many things with Concealshot that you would have no hope of taking down with Mindshot2. For instance, you cannot bleed an ATST, but given enough time, the appropriate weapon, and careful shot management, Concealshot will do the job. Also, Concealshot does random pool damage. If you are not soloing, its random pool damage means that you can target the same pools others are attacking, yet still remain undetected so long as you do not miss. This means that there is less of a chance that a creature will take a liking to you even though there are a half dozen other people shooting it, too. This picking us outof a groupis something that happens quite often to riflemen, even when we are some 50 - 60m away from the rest of the group. Concealshot can help prevent this.
So in answer to you question, given the choice of only the two of them, I would go with Concealshot. It will give you a tool unique to our profession that will allow you to do things that you will not be able to otherwisedo. But that depends on your style of play and what other shotsyou have. If you have Warningshot from Ranged Support, you can keep a target away from you. If you have SuppresionFire1, you can force a posture change on a target andslow it down. If you have SuppressionFire1, you also have Warningshot, but either way, either of these shots can be used with Mindshot1 and Mindshot2 bleeds to keep the creature away from you while the bleeds work. So if bleeding and kiting is more your style and you have one or both of these other shots, Sniping I is also a viable alternative.
Thank you very much, that helped out a lot. good to see there are some posters who go out of theier way to help.
thanks you.

Just so you know, I believe the devs have removed the ability to kill with a bleed. The critter will just have 1 mind left after all is said and done so while bleeds are great and a fast way to lower health they will no longer kill. So that takes a bit away from ms2, although I must admit that I got that first and am glad I did, but this was back when BAF mobs would take you out no matter the shot.
Yes but even though the bleed stops at 1 mind you can use a headshot 1 to finish the target off and not burn a lot of ham like headshot 3 does.

As random damage is never completely subtracted from a single pool, a simple pistol shot will bring the victim down as well.

if it it only has one mind left you can kill it from a single shot from any weapon to any pool, sine all attacks do atleast a few points of damage to every pool. Infact this can help you since you can bleed a mob and run away and it wont die while you are out of range and give you no xp.

Something else I would suggest with this, however, is that most people don't do mind damage. That being the case, when I grouped with mates against a heavy hitter, I was the only one doing mind damage consistently. Everyone else was doing mostly health damage. You get XP for the damage you do. When you divide that health bar by eight that's not a lot of XP. But when you take out 75% of that creatures mind on your ownbefore his health bar is wiped away that's a lot of XP you aint sharing.
Well I meant to say that as in, you fight TK 422 and get 2 great bleeds on him and hs2 until you get incapacitated. He now has only a few ticks of the bleed left to live while he is coming to clone you and as he would die last week...he still has 1 mind left and you are dead. So it is still a great shot and can help tremenduously with large creatures it isn't the savior of the fallen that it was just a few days ago.
Oh and don't take concealshot because it does good damage to random HAM in order to help with the kill since the refire rate is slow.

then thats really selfish of you. You're lucky riflemen aren't banned from groups for this reason, and they probably aren't allowed in seroius organized groups because hitting the same pool is the most important thing.
Still here whining, thought you had left by now![]()
Well when I hunt in a group I dont mind or head shot, I go for the stat modifiers instead, or as I am ranger too trap the suckers. You can always modify your tactics to the group, unles you are a selfish **edit** who only think of the xp not the fun of the hunt. When hunting in a group you are a part of a group, remember that.
