Thread: -=- Post your Uber Jawa's -=-
Yeah stun is super useful now and you all have nice guns! But post revamp (and it is a while away yet) how weapons work will be changed significantly. It opens the door for many weapons to be useful that currently are not. So have fun know ^_^. If they person has stun armor they might have had to give up heat protection, if Heat they might bemore damagedby cold.
things to consider in how the new damage system works.
So basically a stun weapon after the revamp will either be classed a Kinetic or an Energy Weapon - with the possiblity that it has an elemental damage type as well...
it also means that base damage type weapons do not have special resists against them. That is to say a pure energy weapon attacks the base resists. It also means a elemental weapon may be able to do more damage because it may be the flip coin to someones special protection. On average though a basic weapon would beat the armor more often.
my bet for what theJawa becomes: Energy-Electical
and from the older documents: (edits and my commentary in this colour)
- The damage mitigation stats on armor are being changed completely in the combat upgrade. While the names of the stats will remain the same, we have devised a new number range and backend meaning.
- The new types are General Protection(Energy/Kinetic) and Specific Protections(heat, cold, acid, electrical). General protection will range from 0 to 6,000. The general protection of armor will be the baseline stat that reflects how much absorption armor can take against all incoming damage. (no idea what 6000 protection means defensively speaking)
- The Specific Protections will be broken out into familiar damage types of kinetic, acid, heat and so on that ranges from -1200 to +1200. (if you raise one expect 1 or more to drop by an equal number... say raise electical by 1200 it ispossible you would see acid and cold drop by 1200)
- The sum of the general protection and specific protection will provide final damage protection of your armor. For an example, armor with 5320 general protection and 300 acid protection would have a total protection of 5620 vs. acid.
- How exact amount of damage mitigation that provided at each protection amount is something that will be looked at very closely in our Combat Upgrade testing. Based on these initial numbers, however, one can see that most of armor's protective value will be made up by general protection, while the specific protection portion will provide about 20% of the armor's value.
