I'm looking to go master rifleman, master TKA, and Ranged Support 4. My question is whether to go master brawler or master marksman.

Master brawler gives me improved brawler specials like Warcry, Intimidate, and Lunge.

Master marksman gives me added speed and accuracy to my rifle.

Does anyone know the total defencive bonus given at master marksman and master brawler? What other advantages/disadvantages are there?

It depends which profession you prefer to use.. I'm in the process of doing the same as youbut Rifles will always be my strongsuit and favoured profession..I am only picking up TK so that I can look after myself when opponents get too close to me. Plus Unarmed combat is fun.. hehe!

Well at either Master Brawler and Master Marksman you dont get much worth mentioning for melee / ranged defence ( you get alot more of these in the Elite trees ) but depending on which way you want to lean...

Master Marksman will give you a +5 to Rifle speed which is like the icing on the cake for a Rifleman. Also get Overchargeshot2 which is a moderately high damage single target attack with the tradeoff of decaying your weapon rapidly.

Master Brawler will give you Warcry2 which delays your opponent for like 20 seconds when it hits.. also good.. but you have to be within a certain range to use it I think.. Don't have it so dont know.

Alternatively you could get the best of both worlds and find a +5 Rifle speed skilltape/clothing attachment/Armor Attachment.. to compensate for no Master Marksman and go ahead and Master Brawler.

Personally I'm looking for the skilltape or to keep Master marksman

Thanks for letting me know about the small amount of defencive bonuses for both.

I think i'll go for master brawler for the 3 good skills and do my best to find a tape.

Also, have you considered going fencer or swordsman? Fencer has WAY higher melee, range, KD, and dizzy defences. Swordsman has mind hits (not sure what swordsman mods are, they are missing from FAQ). Pikeman has +105 to block.

My GF is playing with me as a doctor/combat medic. For PvP which of those 4 proffesions do you recomend with her backing me up?

BTW overcharged shot 2 is bugged it has the same Dmg multipler and speed multiplier as overcharged 1.

If they havent fixed this yet. (But i kind of doubt that they have)

No probs mate.. I did consider some of the other professions but I just get a real buzz fighting unarmed.. don't ask me why, aspirations of wanting to be a Martial arts superstar or something. Plus the Powerboost and Meditation skills in TK are really appealing to me as a Wookiee who can't wear armor, with those skills I wont have to depend solely on Doc buffs and Wound healing. Actually Fencer was really appealing with it's defensive bonuses but I just couldnt get the image of a guy in a white outfit with a mesh facemask brandishing a foil out of my head.

I'd say any of those professions would be killer.. if you have a ready supply of healing / buffs you can't go wrong.. though I'd lean towards swordsman with the Mind attacks at the moment.. keep in mind though, you can no longer have stacked bleeds on enemys on the Test Centre.. so the Swordsman bleeds on will be of no use if that stays.

Thasks man. I currently have a thread asking for the total mods given in the swordsman tree on the swdsman forum.

When someone gives me an answer i'll put the results here.

I'd say master brawler. Warcry 2 and the unamred lunge are alot better than what master marksman offer. Unless of course you never used your unarmed in pvp then get marksman.

Brawler, not even a contest. You get intimidate (which takes away dodge, counterattack and block), and the godly warcry2 for 20 sec delay to everyone. It is great against meleers. You kite them until you can't kite any longer, then just warcry and continue to pester their mind.

Master brawler is great, expecially warcry2 and intimidate2. You can use them with gun equipped. When a melee gets too close, hit them with wc2, and maybe intimidate2 if they are a mod stacker. Usually they freak out and bolt...which leaves you time to go prone, and pop some headshots(works great for those 200+ ranged defense types).

I went Master Rifleman as my primary profession, recently added Master Swordsman for the compatible mind attacks at close range, and last night completed Master Brawler for Lunge2, Warcry2, and Intimidate2.

Right after training, I went out and tried out my new skills on Borvos. Two of the them came running up. I hit them with Warcry2, then dizzied each of them with1H Dizzyhit1 (could have done this with rifle Flurryshot2, but I wanted them to still be alive after I shot them, hehe), then Lunge2 on each of them. It was a riot standing there while they both tried to get up and kept falling back down.

With Flurryshot2 being able to dizzy multiple targets then being able to individually knock them down with Lunge2 if necessary and group delay them with Warcry2. I can then at my leisure finsih them off with Strafeshot2, AreaAttack3 or whatever else I want.

This should be awesome.

Sorry to add to the confusion but how about this?

MRM, TKM, Fencer 4-4-4-0. Heck of a lot more defense.

Go with master brawler, and find yourself some bio-eng clothes to get an extra +25 to warcry and intimidate..

You'll be so glad you did when things go wrong and you are able to use lunge/warcry to stop 4 creatures from bashing on you as you run away..

P.S. Duelers HATEyou when you can knock them down from 20m (lunge2),thenstick warcry2 and intimidate2 to them EVERY time
